The competing station theory would so… petty. Jesus. Wonder if it was partly that and him supposedly refusing to get vaccinated (another unconfirmed rumor).

¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I rarely listen to games on the radio but looking forward to Dave Koehn

Yeah, I found him and the loud music to be distractions more than anything (i'm turning into an old man). Probably not his fault but starting a Milwaukee Chant a minute before tip off so it inevitably falls apart before the ball is jumped was sad to watch.

Agreed. I stopped listening to all local sports talk a long time ago. I talk sports here and with my friends and that's plenty.

Yea that's my general take on all sports talk, especially ESPN arguers. Most of these guys don't know any more than me so I don't need their opinion or to listen to them scream at each other trying to get people angry. I spend too much time on sports as it is.

But, I guess listening to sports talk guys trying to get you fired up is better than listening to politics/news guys trying to do the same thing. So I'll give that as a positive. Much better than both is to just put on some Tom Petty and relax (which I think Ted might agree with based on his radio call to win the Finals).

As much as i agree with you about the chants and distractions, i would be surprised if any of this changes. It will just be someone else doing the annoying ****. At least that guy was here when we sucked and put his time in.

I suppose there is an outside chance that they received a ton of negative feedback about the non-game arena stuff and decided to class it up. I would be shocked if they do that stuff in Boston or LA.

The draw is the game. Sometimes there are breaks in the action. Thats okay! Let things breathe. Let us digest what we just saw. I dont care about free shirts, free pizzas, follow the ball, or fan contests. Its not about us, its about the game. Sit in your damn seat and watch it.

Agreed. I doubt it changes, they've been doing this stuff for 20+ years. I get it when we had a bad team they tried to keep fans "entertained" but there's no reason to do that now. At least not as much as they do. But as long as sponsors shell out cash they'll be shooting Tshirts and doing other stunts.

Nehm should remain in text format forever.

If his voice were a dessert it would be those big puffy, bland, textureless over-iced sugar cookies that walmart sells.

His inclusion may make this a worse pairing than if they had gone with Scalzo and Brust, a duo who for some reason thinks that people are interested in hearing about their personal lives and other non-sports related takes for long, long stretches of time. No, guys, i dont care which dvds you used to love pulling out of bargain bins when you were in college.

Homer might be an **** but he's got a great radio voice and as a character is at least mildly entertaining. Hes a neurotic, degenerate Wisconsin sports junkie and that is either validating or therapeutic depending on the circumstances. The rest of these guys are wonder bread.

Unfortunately a lot of people who actually attend the games, need these distractions. Especially couples with kids or heck even couples on a date night. We're the outliers here on RGM.

And we aren't aren't unique in Milwaukee. Every other club around the league does this stuff. People wanting to appear on the jumbotron is a universal activity across all sports.
