wow, one doinked 56 yard FG* from an epic three-day stretch of Boston sports glory. I mean the Celtics pre-season W was clearly the highlight, but what a few days!

Hmm, I wonder if the Sox realize that beating the Yankees wasn't the actual goal of the post season, rather just a step to the final goal.

Meh. The Yankees and Red Sox were just playing for the chance to be humiliated by the Rays.

Nice game!!!! I just hope that the Sox didn't use up all of their alloted runs for the series in this one game!

I don’t want to be too disrespectful to the Rays and their fans, after all they just won the pennant. But all my life they’ve been a regular season, warm weather team. It wouldn’t shock me if we took 2/3.

Re: General Boston Sports Thread, Phase 2
Not a bad day!!! Sox did what they needed to do to take the series lead, and the Pats did what they needed to do to squeek out a victory against the Texans.
Also, Brady keeps chugging along doing things that nobody his age has any right to be doing (yeah, I know he's no longer a Pat, but for most of us he will always be a Patriot, and what he does now just adds to his Patriot legagcy!!!!)

Are you **** kidding me Christian Vasquez coming up clutch what a baseball game Fenway must’ve been unreal tonight. Starting to believe in the Sox now.
And the pats somehow won and Mac lead his first of hopefully many 4th qtr comebacks.
Hell of a sports day today my voice is absolutely gone.

I don't think Bill acted in bad faith here. He made Gilmore the highest-paid CB ever, and even moved $5m of this year's money to last year after he outperformed the contract. Dude made $56m over 4 years and Bill sent him to a good situation close to his home. Probably should have traded him going into last season, but there was nothing much else to do at this point. For maybe half a season of a declining player, Pats got cap room for Collins and maybe a RB and a Day 3 pick out of it. Would have liked more, and sucks for Tampa and all, but hey... things end.

No, not bad faith against the player, against my Bucs! He knew we needed him!
Really tho my original comment was me being salty, we could use him, I don't really believe BB cared about stiffing us. I was joking.

Enjoy the plane ride Tampa, Sox moving on. I feel good about going against Houston or the other Sox.

Re: General Boston Sports Thread, Phase 2
I just love how the complexity of baseball really comes out in a game like this. Pinch hitters and runners, teams going deep into their bullpens, sacrifice bunts and flies. It’s a nice push back to the home run/strikeout trend
