Going to sleep easy tonight knowing that my country doesn't have any time zones with a half hour offset.

I've been vaping for 5 years now and I absolutely love it.
But it's like going from driving a car to driving a bike, 9 out of 10 people dont like it.
Unfortunately already made the transition from cigs to vaping but wfh makes it too easy to sit there all day and take hits. Healthier but the cost of those damn juul pods, regular e juice generally doesn't do it for me, is getting up to 160/mo lately. Think I'll be giving it another go this weekend. Perhaps I'll take a booze break as well as being drunk & cranky is what killed the last attempt.
Inadequate perception I reckon it's from the Valium

If you quit vaping, how will you look cool as you blow a cloud of deathsmog into the faces of the people behind you?vital_signs wrote:Pachinko_ wrote:vital_signs wrote:Open to ideas to quit nicotine, made it 72 hours before caving. smh

Well that's what you're supposed to do if you want to give up smoking, take hits all day. Until you've had enough nicotine and you're slowly getting used to vaping instead of smoking. For me smoking felt like a bad substitute after a couple of months.
Not sure what the juul pods are but over here vaping works out about 1/10 of the cost of smoking. I'm just using Nautilus tanks.

USMNT: I so badly want Musah to start but just read he had an inconclusive covid test the other day so he wasn’t able to train with the team for one day. He’s been cleared now but it gives Berhalter an excuse not to play him. Now we’ll get Lletget, I’m pissed.

Headed to South Lake Tahoe tomorrow for a 5 day weekend with 7 college buddies. Can't ****ing wait. Haven't seen many in 2 years due to covid and we rented a ridiculous place that's super cheap because it's out of season there. Thankfully the wild fires have been contained. I've been checked out of work since MOnday.

The South Australia/ Northern Territory half hour has always been stupid but I dunno, never looked into it. Western Australia if **** far away so 2 hours checks out. They are like a country outpost who want to be their own country so they don't cooperate with daylight savings.
Queensland and the N.T. are the Deep North. They also don't do daylight savings because **** you and also I guess it's hot and confuses the farmers.

If anyone else is interested. Never thought I'd google "How big is Australia?" but here we are.

This represents 4 timezones - 3 hour difference - in the US. Which I suppose y'all Aussies might already know by this point.

Oh yea, I knew it was huge. It's the talking the time zones on top of each other, and the weird half hour differences. WTF.

Oh for sure. But as I was looking at the map, I was wondering if they actually needed so many....any yes, yes they do.
My favorite part is the 2.5h difference in districts right next to each other - 6 to 830 - during DST, lol.

How about instead of 'Muh rights' we have 'Muh Timezones'?

Re: OT: General OT Thread [NO POLITICS OR RELIGION]
But really the Queensland is one because they are weird and the South Australia one is because they just wanna be involved with the East Coast.
What's really wild is that on the far west of SA there's an area that's legitimately 15mins behind the rest of SA
There's only a few hundred people there though so no one really pays attention.

It's a debate every year whether or not QLD should have daylight savings but the cows always win and we never change it.

It's one of the reasons Bob Katter wants to make North Queensland a separate state.
I think it's got something to do with the difference in the length of the day in the southern states and the northern states throughout the year.
Once you get into the tropics, there isn't that much difference between your sunrise and sunset times throughout the year. The total daylength on the shortest day of the year (22 Jun) in Cairns is 11h 07 min, and the longest day of the year (22 Dec) is 13h 08 min. So it's not worth the muck around to throw your body clock out by an hour.
In Hobart, the difference is 9 hours of sunlight (22 Jun) and 15h 20 min (22 Dec). They want to soak up as much sunlight as they can get down there.
