Re: Ben Simmons trades go here (and here only): Expect warnings if not following forum rules
LeVert can’t be coveted by Morey. Please.
Crazy scenario, what if Wolves jumped in as 3rd team with Pacers, not for Simmons but for Turner (or Sabonis)?
Wolves have the need bad for a PF. Yes, Simmons is KAT and Russel’s buddy, but they don’t have the PG 76ers need in trade. Enter Pacers.
To 76ers: Beasley + Brogdon + Bolmaro
To Pacers: Simmons + 76er Filler + 2x 1sts from Wolves
To Wolves: Turner or Sabonis + 76er Filler
76ers get Brogdon PG play and Beasley’s shooting.
Pacers get Simmons to run point.
Wolves pair Turner or Sabonis with Towns.

Now it’s really real and not just a guy with 5k followers from Texas
Is it? I'm genuinely asking. I've never heard of this guy, and I've read a lot of guys that might break stuff from around the league and smaller, local markets. Is he a guy that would know about Philly inside sources? Is he someone that would have the true inside hookup, as opposed to anyone local, or national that has broken news before? Or is he just a podcast host?
I would say he’s definitely more than just a podcast guy. Not someone like woj or even stein level but not a guy who breaks anything that’s crazy or untrue ever. Most of the nba stuff he breaks seems to be Klutch oriented. I think it is enough to at least indicate the smoke and interest is legit
Couple things -- I imagine teams are talking all the time about all kinds of things, but it makes sense for almost every team to have had at least cursory conversations with Philly including Indy. Doesn't remotely mean anything is brewing.
And the other is that the wording indicates Philly calling on the Indy players rather than Indy calling Philly offering that package. Which by its very nature makes it less likely than if the reporting was saying Indy was offering this specific package.
I'm not ruling Indy out, but I don't have that tweet as noteworthy in any way.

LeVert/Brodgon plus a top 8 protected 1st is probably as much as sixers can get for Simmons at this point. I think when the trade is close to finalizing. You will see heavy activity counters from other teams. Brodgon has got to stay healty. If he's not healthy it gonna to spell doom for sixers. LeVert can come off the bench for scoring along with Milton. Levert is more of chucker/iso/hot/cold guy. Not particularly a good outside shooter.

Harris

Not sure I understand the value for the Pacers. I guess they feel the team has peaked.
3rd team is definitely needed here though -
Love the idea of getting Charlotte involved, just not sure where else they can add value?
Charlotte out: Hayward, ????
Charlotte in: Lamb, Sabonis
Philly out: Maxey, Simmons
Philly in: Levert, Brogdon, Picks for Charlotte?
Indiana out: Sabonis, Levert, Lamb, Brogdan
Indiana In: Simmons, Hayward, Maxey

I dont like this value for IND. Just keep it Brogdan, Caris, FRP for Simmons.
The value for IND in my scenario is that they do in fact feel they have peaked (Which IMO they nearly have). But adding Sabonis to get Hayward is silly IMO. Try to see how Domatas and Turner coexist with a new floor general in Ben. And in the halfcourt having a passer like Sabonis can alleviate Bens struggles maybe? IDK, certainly worth the dice roll for IND.

All I am still seeing and hearing is a lot of noise that is coming around to the same exact places where everyone has dug in previously.
The ONLY exception based on the front page article (and I’m honestly not believing it’s true based on the player connections) is that the Wolves are now allegedly considering including Russell in a deal. I just still think this is simply noise from the Morey arsenal of media mouths though and not anything out of Minnesota. There is no reason for them to be “all in” and throwing some godfather offer out at a point where true value is hitting its lowest ebb on the eve of the season.

John K is absolutely a Minnesota source and his report is almost certainly coming from a source in the Wolves org and not Morey.
I can't speak to the veracity of it any more than you can, but his sources are in Minny most assuredly.

Whoever gets Simmons is going to have to beat out most of the rest of the league that would have at least some interest in his talent, hence they will have to give solid value IMO, though not a godfather offer

I mean, they’ll have to beat out all of the teams who are looking for a PF with his specific skill set and be able to handle his deficiencies on top of fitting the contract in. Not to mention roster for this close to the start of the season. Seems like a relatively small pool.
I agree with your assessment of “solid value” but there is a lot of gray area there in that definition. I don’t think they’ll get the “impact player” that they want and they’ll need to settle for a package of multiple solid players and some picks.

Many would want him as their lead ball handler, like the Timberwolves.
One just has to look on RealGM team forums, most forums will have a Simmons discussion
The Sixers have already turned down talent, like Brogdon and a first.
A lot of teams have their ear to the ground in this situation. Its hard to get a bargain when a talent goes up for availability

I mean its not really that. The idea is that they would have to give Caris, Brogdan, 1sts for Simmons.
So the difference is reality is would they rather have Sabonis OR Maxey/Hayward/1sts they would trade.
Saying that its adding Sabonis for Hayward is just not true at all.
But either way, we've seen Simmons struggle without shooters spreading the floor. Pairing him with Turner and Sabonis seems like a fools move. IF Indiana is set on giving up their backcourt for him, I'm going to try to put a team around him that actually fits.
Maxey - Hayward - Warren - Simmons - Turner
TJ - Duarte - Holiday - Brissett - Craig - Jackson - Goga
thats a nice place to start.

Morey planting stories to get the "Godfather" DeAngelo Russell offer......that's quite a take there.

Re: Ben Simmons trades go here (and here only): Expect warnings if not following forum rules
I could be wrong here and if I am, please politely let me know haha...
Here are a few things I think...
1. The Pacers and the Timberwolves seem to be the most interested teams so pending a dark horse or a change of opinion from the other usual suspects, I think Simmons ends up on one of those two teams in the end.
2. I don't think Domantas Sabonis is a fit with Carlisle next to Turner and Carlisle could get really creative with Simmons. I think the rumored Brogdon/LeVert offer is more-so Philly wanting Brogdon with Sabonis and Indy probably only offer LeVert with Sabonis.
3. I bet the 76ers prefer a loaded picks package over taking on D'Angelo Russell from the T'Wolves so they can have assets for a future trade so I assume Beverly, McDaniels, Prince and picks for Simmons would be their offer.
4. It probably comes down to who can generate the most picks/assets/young players between Minnesota and a third team in a Sabonis deal.
5. I still think none of this even happens until Beal, Lillard or someone similar becomes available and they confirm they can get that player if they do the Indy/Minnesota trade.
But if the Wizards get off to a slow start, an unpaid Simmons cloud is hanging over Philly, Indiana gets off to a slow start and Charlotte/Toronto or a team like that show they're a legit center away from jumping up a tier then I could see...
Bradley Beal to Philadelphia
Tyrese Maxey, Caris LeVert, Team X Filler and Team X picks/assets/young players plus Philly picks to Washington
Domantas Sabonis to team X
Ben Simmons to Indiana
or if same thing, but Minnesota gets off to a slow start...
Bradley Beal and roster consolidation via Washington to Philly
Ben Simmons to Minnesota
Tyrese Maxey, Patrick Beverley, Taurean Prince, Jaden McDaniels and Minnesota picks plus Philly picks to Washington
I know a lot of people have my values here as way off, but I'm betting when it's all said and done, the final Simmons deal resembles one of the two above.

Pretty much in the same order as you listed them except the Minny one is last.
1) Brogdon+LeVert+FRP
2) CJ+Covington
3) White+Murray
4) DLO+McDaniels+FRP

Value aside, if I'm PHI I'd go with:
CJ/RoCo
White/Murray
Brogdon/Levert
D-Lo/McDaniels
