That’s wild.

I had such high hopes for CDR, but can’t remember why.

I think he was the stereotypical "if he can just improve" his jumper guy who never did. If I recall correctly, the offseason before or after he played here he had a Twitter post showing his stats from a 1000 jump shot practice session that got people hyped up.

Jason Kidd tried to trade Lopez for Larry when he was in Brooklyn.
He then came to Milwaukee because of Jabari, Larry, and Lasry, and destroyed Jabari and Larry.
We fire Kidd and sign Lopez that following offseason.
We become the best team in the league IMMEDIATELY.

So is Kidd like a reverse Midas, who turns everything to ****? Or is a human fire who burns through all the dead wood and leaves fertile devastation in his path? There is SOMETHING to be said (I'm not 100% sure what that something is) about the fact that we didn't need to undo a bunch of Kidd **** to be great under Bud, because he burned everything down himself before he left.

The narrative, accurate or not, in the Mirin Fader Giannis bio is that Kidd broke Larry with his hardass head games. His other tactics, like repeatedly forcing players to say who the best player on the team was as a dysfunctional-family "team-building" exercise, were also made to appear twisted. And maybe they were.

I'll be curious to see how Doncic and company respond to the Kidd style. And whether Kidd tries to remake Doncic in his own image.

Why did Dallas hire Kidd? Embarrassing. He hasn't changed a bit.

I think Kidd might end up loving Frank.

Frank can't score except with 3's. He's going to average 0 points.

CDR was a fun twitter follow too when the Bucks didn't have an overwhelming amount of those.

The Pacers stuff still makes the most sense to me for a Simmons trade. If they can get something like Brogdon, Levert and a pick or two for Simmons they should take that and run. I imagine Indy doesn't want to give up much draft compensation and Morey isn't getting the star player in return he was hoping for but Brogdon would pair well with Embiid and Levert is solid when he's healthy. I think something like that is the best they can do here.

If I'm Indy, I make that trade all day long, and then build around Simmons. Just feels like Morey wants a player coming back better than Brogdon.

And you'd guess Morey doesn't want D-Lo from Minnesota either (don't blame him).

From Philly's perspective, think they'd have a great outcome if they could pry Haliburton/Hield from the Kings.

There were indicators under Kidd that this was an elite team before we got into our depth. In Bud's first year, we completely overhauled our depth.

This was the roster after our big three during Kidd's final season (in order of minutes played):

Tony Snell (starter), John Henson (starter), Malcolm Brogdon, Thon Maker, Jason Terry, Sterling Brown, Jabari Parker, Matthew Dellavedova, DeAndre Liggins, Tyler Zeller, Sean Kilpatrick, Brandon Jennings, Rashad Vaughn, Mirza Teletovic, Shabazz Muhammad, Gary Payton II, Greg Monroe, D.J. Wilson, Marshall Plumlee

In Bud's first season, Brogdon was healthy and we added Lopez so Snell and Henson didn't have to be starters. We also added Pat Connaughton, Ersan Ilyasova, George Hill, Nikola Mirotic, and Donte DiVincenzo.

Gary Payton II would be a bench guy on this team. If the Warriors release him I’d bring him back here ASAP for the end of the bench

But that first list was compiled by the great John Hammondz! He deserves all the credit, apparently.

Hill and Mirotic were acquisitions well into Bud's first season, Hill in mid December and Mirotic in February. Our core roster to start the year and up until the Hill acquisition in mid December was Giannis, Middleton, Bledsoe, Lopez, Brogdon, Ersan, Donte, Henson, Snell, Sterling, Delly, Pat. In that 25 game sample we lead the league in SRS and point differential by a mile, a +9.2 net rating. The previous year we had a negative net rating and SRS (20th in the league in both), including before Brogdon's injury.

I'm sorry but Brook, Pat, Ersan and rookie Donte as depth additions were solid, especially Brook who was terrific, but they were not the driving force in going from 20th in the league to 1st in the league in SRS/net rating.

Let's be real, Kidd was an absolute dog **** coach and Bud was an incredible regular season coach and instilled structure, professionalism, and X's & O's (regular season at least) that Kidd could only dream of. We would've absolutely been better under Kidd with the same additions we got in 18-19, but that doesn't change that Kidd was easily the worst coach in the league with the Bucks.

Heady play. If I was doing his kind of shady **** I'd be looking to change identities too.

Lowry is still a badass and a seamless fit with Miami. That said we're gonna clamp those dudes again in the playoffs.

KPJ/Green will be a sick backcourt in a few years if KPJ doesn't go off the rails, which is a possibility.

Your assumption that no GM would have drafted a guy projected in the middle of the first with a a middle of the first pick seems like it has a few holes but do you.

Hammond sucked.

The people who were responsible for drafting Giannis get lifetime passes. Induct them into the Bucks HOF. I can't imagine giving less of a **** for anything that came before or after.
