Ben Simmons Would Have No Problem With Trade To Kings

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Oct 10, 2021 3:43 pm

Disgruntled Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons would have no problem with a trade to the Sacramento Kings. That's been a rumored landing spot for Simmons for a while, but the Kings have been hesitant to part with young star De'Aaron Fox in a deal.

A trade for Simmons is seen as a way for Sacramento to improve their defense. The idea proposed is to trade Buddy Hield and either Tyrese Haliburton or Davion Mitchell as part of the deal. The Kings can then team Simmons with Fox and whoever is left of Haliburton and Mitchell to build a solid defensive foundation.

Simmons remains a holdout from Sixers camp. Sources indicated that Philadelphia hasn't budged on a trade, as they continue to hold out for a deal involving Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal.

At this point he’ll be lucky to play 30 games this season. As far as I can tell he can’t play in California, Oregon, Canada or New York (maybe others I’m not aware of?). This isn’t including his traditional 10-15 games he misses for personal reasons or bogus injuries. The Nets should cut their losses now and take anything with any type of value for him, he can’t help them win if he can’t play!

The kings and their drama queen...

(bad) joke aside, anyway the kings should make a choice between Haliburton and Fox.

Minnesota is about to pony up every pick they have to trump Sacto. And there's no way they give up Fox. Hield, Halliburton and picks basically turns the Sixers into the 1994 Rockets. I'm sure Joel will be just as motivated as Dream was, and hopefully they can turn the picks into something at the deadline.

Where did you see this?

I would add that now that Simmons has proven he is willing to forego salary if he is unhappy, teams like SAC and MIN have to be worried that could happen with their teams - places he could grow to be unhappy with.

I had Bagley, Mitchell and Hield with a #1 pick for Simmons at one point but as this drags out I'm thinking drop the pick to 2 2nds.

I've read other articles citing Minnesota's interest, along with Simmons' friendship with KAT and DLo

It's not just about being close to LA. He also wants to be on a bad team so there's no unfair pressure to win.

The trade is Bagley, Tristan Thompson and a protected 2nd. Any more than that call Cleveland maybe they'll give you Ricky Rubio.

Simmons would be on Cloud 9 if he ends up on a $hit team with zero expectations.
