Add harden to that list. dude is going to break down the way he treats his body.

Maybe with Harden, he’s fat as hell for an nba athlete. But he also was fat last year and looked like his same mvp level player. With Lebron, I just have to see it to believe it. Father Time is undefeated but I can’t bet against him.

Until his first groin injury I still thought Lebron was the best athlete in the league. He was able to turn it back up in the bubble but last year the short area burst is gone. He can still get up when he has a runway and can play bully ball. His advanced stats are coming down again this year as he shoots more 3's and settles for shots 3-10 ft rather than at the rim. I agree with Simmons take that Lebron is top 10 but not top 3, especially for regular season impact.

This is the price we paid to go from Bled and George Hill to Jrue. It's probably very similar to what Simmons will eventually get traded for. Portland is on my shortlist for teams that could start bad and panic. Just do it now. The guy is a 24 year old 3x all star, 2x 1st team all defense, and a perfect fit with Dame.

Maybe that set a precedent, but CJ is a much better player than Bled/Hill, who were salary dumps. CJ could be a championship piece (I don’t even like him and I’m saying that) Sure Simmons is younger and has 4 years left, so his value is higher than Holiday’s, but I’m not sure all the drama puts them in the position to get that same deal. For Portland, the fit is good. I wonder if Lillard wants his drama and fragility on and off court.

I just think it is funny to picture Morey making that offer, they counter with 1 or 2 frp, and Morey says no.

Who would you rather have in his prime, Yi or Thon?

Yi got buckets for a couple of months, Thon was one of our best players in the playoffs in his first two seasons. :P

We paid that price to move off a bad contract and get back a really good player in return.. I'm not so convinced that Simmons is a positive contract right now. Any max contract player that is that bad in the playoffs can't be considered a positive. Based on that thinking if Philly get a really good player back shouldn't they be sending out firsts?

Not sure what I am loving more this pre season. Philly vs Simmons or Kyrie vs Vaccinations.

Latest news that Kyrie may retire if the Nets trade him is gold, especially combined with the nets growing belief they won't get him for any home games this season... surely you can't carry that risk the entire season, especially if you can't get him for home play off games.

Yi was really impressive first time I saw him with the Chinese NT. I remember wondering how come no NBA team had snatched him LOL
Now I know

The physicality of the NBA was too much for him at the time. Today he probably would’ve been more of a stretch 4 taking a ton of 3’s. He was good in space, a wreck when a guy was in his face and weak inside the paint on both ends. Shame you can’t put PJ’s dog energy in Yi’s body lmao.

The craziest part was that it was pretty clear he didn’t have it in him his rookie year and the Bucks were still able to flip him and Bobby for Richard Jefferson. It’s just a shame Redd’s career effectively ended that season (which led to getting Jennings) lol.

My belief is growing that Pop will miss the game & come to Milwaukee to learn from his student as lead assistant. After Darvin lands a HC job.

Surprised to see so little interest in CJ McCollum on the Sixers’ board.

Most of their posters view Brogdon as a significantly better target (that is if Morey’s dreams of a superstar return are dashed). I’m high on Brogdon but thought Philly fans would be more spooked about his health alongside Embiid.

Then again McCollum comes with his own considerations too:

The problem, according to The Athletic's John Hollinger, is money. Most of the league reportedly views McCollum's contract, which has three years and $100 million remaining, as having "slightly negative value."

Could see Stein’s report about the Sixers not being into the Pacers assets as mostly Morey posturing.

Brogdon’s health is a big risk but if Philly is really willing to role the dice that he and Embiid can make it through the playoffs together there is no question how he’d fit on the court.

Also they’d get other players / picks from Indiana.

However if Morey really isn’t bluffing about waiting for Lillard then Simmons could be in for a very long stare down:

”Philadelphia has been unmoved by the Pacers' ability to offer Malcolm Brogdon and Caris LeVert as the headliners of a trade package," Stein wrote in one of his latest pieces. "No matter how unrealistic it sounds, Portland's Damian Lillard remains the type of starry target Morey seeks."

I feel like there's a non-zero chance that Kyrie is vaccinated and can't play because he refuses to disclose it.

I think Brogs would be really good in that Philly team. But he's not the #2 banana they likely need to win (neither is CJ). They'll hold out for someone better but doubt they get it. As much as it hurts Simmons, this is also going to drag Philly down the longer it drags. Particularly if they start slow this season there will be a lot of pressure on Morey to make a deal.

Do you need a number 2? Embiid plus 3 #3’s (Harris, Brogdon, Levert), another two scorers in Curry and Korkmaz, and then some hustle players (Green, Thybulle, Maxey, Milton) might be enough.

Was there a credible report that Philly turned down Halliburton and Hield (or Barnes would work, too, salary wise), or was that just people theorizing? Because that trade would improve Philly.
