The Lakers look like a very poorly constructed team this season from RWB downward. So I think they’re vulnerable even if healthy. I don’t have a clue who their 4th and 5th best players are. I usually pencil teams with 2 players as good as AD and LJ in for greatness but I’ve rarely seen a team with more question marks beyond their 2 superstars.

Yeah, so many think they improved, but I'd take their supporting cast of KCP, Caruso (great guard defenders and 40% 3 pt shooters), Schroeder, Kuzma (neither guy I like much but decent scoring punch off the bench), Harrell.

I like that better than Monk and Melo and a bunch of not great role players. I guess Bazemore can be ok. Westbrook has a lot of intensity and will help if their guys get injured but most of his strengths (setting guys up, rebounding, etc) they don't need and his weaknesses (shooting) they do. I am interested to see how they mesh. I didn't think him and Harden would work well together though and he played well with him. Not as good as Paul when they got along, but better than I expected.
.

Even their best role players are either one dimensional like Monk or are one dimensional and also have a age decline/injury question mark attached to them.

I like THT, but his poor shooting seems like a poor fit on this roster. I think Nunn is decent enough and should be a easy choice to start over that group but it doesn’t look like Vogel is a big fan. If Melo is still playing rotation minutes during the playoffs they’re in big trouble because teams have been picking on his playoff defense since he was at OKC. He’s a massive sieve.

Lots of name players on that bench, including 2 surefire HOFers, but not much current talent attached to them

Nurse is below average at best.
Masai is overrated.
I dont get how so many people believe in the raptors, they have zero to chance to win it all.

problem is teams are going to rest players and aim for the play -offs especially the older teams. the good ones won't care if they have h/c.

but h/c matters to utah and denver. they want that high altitude advantage so i think denver 1 and utah 2 if murray is back

phx is going to be keeping tabs on cp3.

denver,,, if murray is healthy
utah
mavs,,, if kp is right
phx
port
lakers,,, will manage it's roster

pels won't make it. they're going backwards

bucks
nets,,, are so good they can't fall lower than 3 if they tried to tank
thibs will keep nyk steady

West
The Jazz and Suns are solid, but the scariest team in the WC is actually the Nuggets if Jamal Murray can come back and make an impact. The Lakers look like a mess, and if Davis doesn't play at an MVP level they might not be a HCA team. Luka looks even better than last year. Not sure how sustainable it is though. Warriors are the ultimate space and pace team, but I don't believe enough in their interior defense.

Last year were 72 games and mavs won 42. That with KP coming back from surgery and having 3 of the other starters miss a month at the same time for covid. They will get 50-55 wins this year. Cant say where that will put them, but maybe 3rd? My guess is jazz and nuggets ahead at around 60

I find it difficult to rank teams like the Knicks who surprise one year and then change the makeup of the squad the next. They were a top 3 defense last year and i cant see that continuing with Kemba/Fournier starting in the backcourt. That said, this is an infusion of offensive talent/shooting for a team desperate for it but it kinda changes who they are. Just hard to rank them. I can see them improving but i honestly would not be surprised to see them fall apart.

The rim protectors are all Thibs really needs to make the defense work. He has that still with Mitchell Robinson, Noel, Sims and Gibson holds his own when needed with his veteran savvy. I see the defense still being top 10 maybe slipping a bit from last season but the offense being leaps and bounds better than last seasons

Call me skeptical that a top 10 defense can be made from a backcourt of Kemba/Fournier.

I like their moves but I'm not sold on the fit. Having said that I could take the bulls just as easy as the pacers or even the Knicks. I'm just not huge on the spacing of Chicago

That makes sense. Figuring out the final playoff lock team (#6) and play-in team (#10) in both conferences was difficult for me.

He’s pulled it off with worse defensive talent I’d say lol. Wasn’t one of those bulls team running Bellini,Nate Robinson and Boozer heavy minutes and still a top 10 defense. If anyone can do it, it’s thibs
