Thread is way to premature. 2 or 3 preseason games, some rooks haven't even played.

Give it 20 games, then make this thread. Trends start to emerge, and we'll all have some real data to work with.

This early you may as well ask which RealGM member is going to win the lottery.

1. Green - going to get a lot of shots and going to score a lot.

2. Cade - most well rounded player.

3. Barnes - seems like he's going to get a lot of minutes right away (might start with Siakam out) which means he's going to fill up the stat sheet.

There's a rookie thread from a few days ago so I just merged and stickied them.

He looks like a steal and was exactly what the Pels needed.

Raps fans are in love with Scottie Barnes, as am I, he’s a unique player and personality. But he’s a really awful shooter. That needs to change if we are going to start talking about his star/superstar potential as right now it’s a lot of Ben Simmons type skills.

i was low on Barnes because of his shooting but he has clearly shown that he won't be bust. He plays with so much energy, has elite physical tools and his passing has been very impressive.
I see Andre Igoudala level player in him, looks like an awesome pick.

Has anyone watched Giddey? how has he looked so far?

Giddy looks like the real deal, great size, feel and instincts. And only 18.

Barnes definitely won’t be a bust, he already has a bunch of plus NBA skills. But very simmons like without the same fear of shooting. He should improve, but how much?

I don't think he's like Simmons at all. He's not a good shooter but at least he's taking them. He may never become a knockdown shooter but he's not afraid

Like I said in my post, he’s Simmons without the fear to shoot. But I’m sure Simmons could match his poor shooting if he did start firing away.

The rest of the package, the size and athleticism, the ability to guard 5 positions, the handle and passing, are all very Simmons like. But I think his attitude, personality and will to improve his game are all superior

I said Barnes, Green and Suggs. Cade's good, but he doesn't have much to work with in Detroit.

Definitely. Preseason isn't summer league or anything but teams aren't really trying and the game is so much looser. Rookies can mess around and do things that just aren't going to happen or be there for them in the RS. Not saying that means the ones who play well in it won't be good, but the whole thing of posting raw and per-minute stats as though they'll translate is probably not our best look.

Interesting, seems like it's pretty much consensus that the Pistons cast is as good as ORL or HOU, who have been consistently ranked as bottom-5 teams this year.

as a fan of barnes, wow mobley is the best player in this draft. he has embiid level potential beat 3 all stars almost by himself.
a lot of teams are going to regret passing him up. mobley is lamelo and green is edwards of this draft.

future first all nba mobley, 3rd barnes, with all stars in cade and green. not too bad i thought this draft was a bust.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Why would you think this draft was a bust? Mobley was feasting all year. Just needs that motor to stay aggressive consistently and the sky is the limit.
