Does anyone think there's any chance Ben Simmons comes into this season better than he was when he was last seen choking embarrassingly in the playoffs?

Maybe those workout videos are just the tip of the iceberg and he wasn't too distracted by torching his relationship with the team that controls his rights for 4 more years.

Or Simmons stays true to form:

Simmons on the Nets seems like a scary proposition.

However they did just leak how atypical his development has been as a #1 pick who was not on an awful team to develop without pressure, in which case Baby Ben might prefer less pressure on a losing team, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't make the move anyways if Durant agrees.

I have a hard time imagining Kyrie Irving on the Sixers working out though.

That's not to say Morey wouldn't do it if only since bringing in a flashy star would help him win the press conference announcing the trade.

But Kyrie was way injury prone and tough in the lockerroom already before you add in all the anti-vaxxer stuff. There is recent history with Irving's underwhelming Celtics tenure to show that Philly could get burned badly both on and off the court as well.

The trade would only be an onus on Morey not sending Simmons to Houston for Harden. Kyrie isn't as good & has been just as unavailable of late.

Let Brooklyn get Harden, only to take his dysfunctional newer teammate on & lose your player that once had greater market value.

I wonder if the Bucks would have done the Jrue deal for Simmons.

Maybe from a basketball perspective and no on everything else. I don't think he's a bad guy, but the trappings of being a basketball star seem to matter disproportionately more to him than most guys who approach his talent level. If you want to be in the spotlight, recognize you are in the spotlight 24-7 for good and for bad. Simmons hasn't gotten that yet.

Was there a credible report that Philly turned down Halliburton and Hield (or Barnes would work, too, salary wise), or was that just people theorizing? Because that trade would improve Philly.

I knew Fox was off-limits.

There's this laughable notion that if the Sixers wait until the Kings get off to a bad start, they'll get desperate and make a trade. Even with that happening it makes absolutely no sense they'd give up their best player to try to salvage the season.
