Been on antibiotics for 4 days and can take a deep breath and can finally sleep on the side pneumonia is, so it's already a lot better than it was.

I've only had it once but I still remember it being absolutely awful. My trip to the doctor was bad too. I went in because of a very sharp pain in my chest. They did a chest x-ray, saw a blotch on my lungs, thought it looked like pneumonia but didn't trust it. So they had me do an MRI. Nothing there. By now I've waited three hours. Finally came back, "You have pneumonia!". Gave me the antibiotics and sent me on my way with a big ****' medical bill.

That satchel/messenger bag is beautiful. If you ever chose to sell one like that, I would totally be interested....especially if it would take a padded insert to make it into a camera bag.

Attractive and durable bags have a lot of value and the fact that it'd be handmade adds even more. I don't know how much you'd have to make to make it worth it on your end but you could sell it for a lot more than $250. My current bag cost significantly more and it's a similar concept.

I used to be a street tog and I've paid some money to ONA and Billingham for bags, but since I sold my Leicas and Mamiyas the bags went with them and it never really crossed my mind to make one. I don't shoot much these days, I only have a couple of Fuji X and I just throw them loose in the glove compartment or whatever bag I'm carrying
And they've been just fine, funny enough. I think we're kind of overdoing it with all that padding, but I also get it. It's psychological. I think if I was making one for myself right now I'd probably only add padding to the bottom in case I drop the bag on a concrete floor or something, but I reckon the sides are fine with just leather.

I had walking pneumonia a few years back and it was the absolute worst. Every time I coughed it felt like I was getting stabbed in the back by 1000s of needles. I did get some cough meds/sleep aid from my Dr though, that stuff knocked me out for like 12hrs at a time, it was glorious.

hmmmm I guess you get quicker, make multiple components at a time? I dunno, I know a guy who sells furniture and **** made out of wine barrel timber. Your stuff is beatiful, I'd buy one for sure if I was a rich dude!

Yeah I'll pay for stuff like that, I don't mind, as long as I know it's made properly. I paid a dude $1,200 (AUD) to make me a pair of handmade boots, because he makes them with chromexcel exterior, layers of veg tan mid soles, kangaroo reinforcements and goodyear welts, which means they are repairable and will last a lifetime. Doesn't get better in terms of boot materials and construction. And they're cut exactly to my size which means they'll be more comfortable than anything I could buy ready made, plus I get to customise every single colour and detail. Some things like boots, bags and belts, it's worth buying it once and buying it properly, instead of the false economy of buying multiples every year. But most people dont see it like that.

Still waiting for those boots by the way, it's been 4 months LOL

A little while ago I picked up a Hario v60 dripper for making pour overs at home, I opted for just a single cup plastic one (I wanted a prettier one but the place I was grabbing it from was out of stock anything but this). I already had far too many coffee gadgets but was keen to have a go at tinkering with this and I have to say DEAR GOD IT IS WONDERFUL!

If you're in to black coffee, into a little bit of tinkering then I can't recommend this as a little home hobby. It cost me all of about $30 AUD to get one, and less than $10 for a couple of hundred filters. Fun to learn and makes an amazing, single cup of black coffee.

Lake Tahoe gets my stamp of approval. Only was there for 2.5 days outside of the travel days, but what I saw I really enjoyed. Even being off season it was great. Went to Emerald Bay, golfed, went out to eat, and had an unreal AirBnB that was super cheap because we were out of season. Would love to go again for a longer duration and maybe stay during summer when it's hopping.

The Australian federal government was complacent with the good fortune we had of being an island early on so they under purchased on vaccines early, and then most of what they initially purchased and we had available was AZ that they in turn issued health advice of "oh, maybe not a good idea to use this one on anyone under 60?".

In the state I'm in we've had months of the state government saying "go get vaccinated" and a lot of folks going "Sure! How?". My son wasn't eligible to even get a vaccination for his age range until 30th August, we booked the same day and the nearest we could get was end October for the first (then I've just been monitoring appointments to be able to bring it forward). It's all been a legit ****, a lot with the pandemic has been wild and new and it's humans trying to plan- but sheesh they had a long time to plan and didn't seem to use it well.

Mine is a 1 cup (so 15gm/250ml*) but will be picking up a ceramic 2 cup and a server like yours. I'm shocked at how good a cup of coffee they make.

I'm really dialed in on making pretty good home espresso drinks with milk (flat whites over here), and take more than just a little bit of pride in people thinking "good coffee here". Every now and then I would have somebody who just wanted a black coffee and I'd try to make an Americano (espresso + hot water)- I was always kind of bummed that I made them so infrequently that they probably weren't all that great, I'm keen to quickly whip out a v60 for someone when I get a chance.

To continue with your point, the fact that Indigenous Australians, one of the most at-risk groups in the country, are woefully undervaccinated is diabolical.

To get mine as a health worker in June I had to make 2 100km round trips (which I'd gladly do again) which seemed unnecessarily difficult.
