Nah, you still are not, unless you show me proof that you guys predicted the pandemic and a vaccine mandate. Kyrie has not been a locker room cancer here like Celtics fans told us he would be. This situation is entirely related to a vaccine mandate and Kyrie is no doubt a dumbass for his stance, but he has been a well liked, popular figure in the Nets locker room. They're separate things.

This is a dumb partisan fight, but pretending him just taking some personal me time in the middle of last year was totally fine with everyone in the locker room is a take to be sure. Not a good one, but of course none of this is about reality but defending my favorite franchise no matter what.

DusterBuster wrote:The other question re: Simmons for Kyrie trade idea, do the Nets even want Simmons? Granted, maybe just to get the headache of Kyrie to go away they would for that alone, but from a fit standpoint, I don't see how Ben would be a good fit with that team... especially with Harden. Both Harden and Simmons need the ball in their hands almost exclusively to be the best versions of themselves as players

If that trade were to happen, it would probably make the most sense for it to be a 3 team deal with Simmons going elsewhere and the Nets getting pieces from the 3rd team.
As a Nets fan, I am absolutely against the idea of trading for Simmons, unless its to add to KD, Harden, Kyrie (which is not possible anyways). Simmons is not a good fit here and people underestimate or overlook how unplayable he becomes in the postseason. I'd rather roll the dice with Kyrie atm and hope that he gets vaccinated. Kyrie is way better for us on the court than Simmons could ever be.

They could suspend him, though. His actions are detrimental to the team, etc. They're trying to have it both ways.

They can't suspend him because they are unwilling to let him practice and play off the bench in away games.

Sure they could. The CBA is full of clauses that say a player can be suspended for actions detrimental to the team, "to give his best services, as well as his loyalty, to the Team," etc. They don't want a war with the union over this, but they would have a case in arbitration. If he doesn't come around they could still go that route.

Whether they were fine or not (there were no reports that they weren't), I am telling you the facts based on evidence. Guys on the Nets (outside of KD and Harden) have spoken very highly of Kyrie as a teammate. Bruce Brown, Tyler Johnson, Caris Levert (who got traded midseason), etc. all have went out of their way to praise Kyrie and their relationship with him. Even the Nets' latest draft pick, rookie Cam Thomas just said that Kyrie is the guy he has bonded with on the team the most. I'm not just saying random bs, this is backed by evidence.

Stephen A doesn't know ****. Right before KD signed his extension with the Nets this summer, the man was openly fantasizing on ESPN about KD possibly going to the Knicks in free agency.

Legally and medically it's not a person until birth, you know, when it starts breathing on it's own and stuff.

Are you being sarcastic?

There is no consensus on exactly when someone is a "person", but "it" has a heartbeat at 5-6 weeks.

The baby begins developing a brain at 5 weeks in.

Common sense and medically speaking, it's pretty clear it is a human being. And unless aborted, it has a strong chance of developing into a fully fledged person capable of "breathing on its own" and meeting your qualifications.

I'd immediately hire Kyrie as a national TV analyst based in Chicago and then have him sitting courtside at every Nets game...

Last I'll touch on the subject in this thread. Just remember folks that the mandates (tyranny) may be inline with your personal/political beliefs today but they may not down the road.

Irony considering two of his teammates just made it clear they don't want him around. If he was truly so well-liked and respected they would not have made that call.

It's okay to acknowledge that sometimes guys on the teams we cheer for aren't perfect all the time. I applaud your loyalty, but I also understand your thinking here is based on that loyalty not on how his teammates honestly feel. I mean of course his teammates are going to say the right things publicly about him. Doesn't mean we should just blindly take it at face value.

the thing with KD is, hes a reallyyyyy bad leader.

You need to have a team with leadership and a system in place. If then on top add KD into the mix, the outcome will probably turn out amazing. KD fits into everything and is probably the most efficient weapon in the league. Thats where he needs to be.

But you cannot put him on a team with a lot of distractions and no proven system in place.

Now that Kyrie should be mostly out of the picture Harden and KD can turn out great aswell obviously. but i see why people dont like KD as the starting point of a team.
im bout dat action boss

I think Kyrie is a nutjob but I also think forcing someone to take a vaccine that even the most ardent supporter has to admit was rushed is a terrible thing.

Youre just making things up now. No players decided they didn't want him around.

The team decided it was impractical to have him play only road games.

While on the Nets his teammates have been full of praise and he hasn't caused any locker room issues.

This nonsense that hes some Cancer who would ruin the locker room was a joke. The vax situation sucks. But its unrelated.

Stephen A knows nothing, almost every time he just speculates based on some logic (this time Morey-Harden connection) and to make some noise.

People should stop comparing Durant and Irving at this point off-court wise: Durant isn't a natural-born leader and he's a diva, but Kyrie right now is just s******g on his teammates.

I think we all forget a few things here. This is just basketball. It’s entertainment. Players come and go. He is a person that has a freedom to choose. He made his choice knowing the consequences of that choice. Simple and done. We as fans do have the right to bash him for it. But remember he is a person who picked a career and it’s his choice to quit or retire or whatever. It’s the nets choice to not employee him or play him or trade him. Everyone has a choice.

As you might have the freedom to make your own decisions you do not have the freedom to choose something that puts other people’s freedoms in jeopardy. So he can choose to not get vaccinated but he can’t put his teammates in jeopardy because of that choice.
