Eventually but if they just let him sit for the season that money's gone right? Like sure is he's trades in a week his new team will pay him and probably re fund the fine money either out right or under the table with a duffle bag full of C notes.

Tell me why Kyrie & Brad couldn't work? We know one thing they'd see eye to eye on lol.

Nets need role players/depth to complement Durant & Harden... for 82 games. Wizards have plenty of options. Wizards need another star and consolidation trade. Simmons & Wood seem out of reach but considering Kyrie's situation, might he be available sooner than later?

Morey - wants maximum assets and is willing to wait it out.

Simmons - wants gone and is willing to sacrifice this years pay (opinion).

Other GMs - very hesitant they want Simmons (but there only needs to be one exception).

Simmons fired the first salvo - didn't report to camp, is selling his Philly based house and has said publicly he can't see coming back to the Sixers.

Morey fired the second shot - he put the money in escrow.

If I am Simmons (and evil) - I leak that I am contemplating retirement regardless of the team to which I am traded.

I would think Morey would then threaten contract termination? It would put him in even a worse situation.

They probably work on the court, but I really don't want anything to do with Kyrie. Injury prone, and you never know when he'll go MIA and retire.

If Simmons retires, he sacrifices $150m. You think he's going to do that? Would be pretty amazing!

For a threat to have any meaning there has to be a chance that you'd actually follow through.

I kinda think Simmons will just wait. The crowds will turn on Morey eventually because they won't be able to boo Simmons when he isn't there. Sixers fans are already coming to the conclusion that Morey messed this up even if they also despise Simmons. How long does Morey put up with that while praying some other team offers him up a superstar to save both his desire to rob another team in a trade and also what Philly fans would be doing at that point?

I have no idea how this shakes out but it seems like a lose/lose situation and I'm fascinated by it the longer More drags this out. If Simmons really wants to mess with them, when things get really bad, he shows up for a single game, forces Morey to pay him a bit, and then randomly sits again - bonus points if he gets a minor tweak and forces Morey to decide if he wants to go up against the union in not paying for minor medical issues when a player chooses to sit.

Say Simmons is traded for Kyrie - What position does Simmons play for Brooklyn? I'm thinking center.

It would be an awesome move for Brooklyn. I always thought Kyrie was superfluous on that roster once they acquired Harden. Better to trade him for equivalent talent but with different skills. Simmons would be perfect.

Put Harden, Durant and Simmons on the floor together and you have absolutely insane versatility at both ends of the floor. If you want to dominate offensively, you can just add Mills and Harris to round out the starting 5. If you want better D, bring in Bruce Brown in place of one of those guys. If you want to go big, play Blake Griffin.

Ha! Yes, why not? That’s crazy enough to work! And also — crazy.

But color me intrigued.

And let’s swing for BS, too — um, let’s swing for Ben Simmons too — while we’re at it.

Gafford at C
Simmons at PF
KCP at SF
Beal at SG
Kyrie at PG

If the Washington Wizards were to acquire Kyrie Irving it would be a transformational move for this franchise.

I recall the year after John Wall was drafted I posted that I think the Wizards should trade him for the rights to Kyrie Irving. As flaky as that guy is if the Wizards somehow retained Bradley Beal and Daniel Gafford THEN we'd have a contender.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

I've been pretty against trading for kyrie... But the price can't be lower.

Offer bertans, Trez, Nato, gill
Or
bertans , Trez, Holliday

We go into the tax but, does Beal and kyore give you enough to make a splash. If kyore buys in ...yea.

save them big tax bucks and money now they get some shooting and get kyrie out of there.

I doubt this happens but **** it worst case he retires. And all we do is dump two years of bertans. And a little money on the back end.

Dinwidie can't then be six man of the year coming off the bench. You can start
Kyrie
Beal
Rui
Kuz
Bryant

And give big minutes to dinwidie, KCP, Kispert, deni and gafford.

That's a solid 10 man rotation, with two top 15 players and some nice rotation depth left over.

I love it. He and Beal would make up the all-NBA unvaxxed squad. Add in our new male cheerleaders and we'd also have a large contingent of unwaxed folks on the sideline.

Come on down to Chinatown for the unvaxxed and unwaxed show. No telling what form of crazy shiz will break out.

Not a bad trade, but do you want ego anywhere near a developing roster/players? Yikes.

Maybe not ego, but I've been thinking this team does need an infusion of attitude. Competitive arrogance. Cockiness. Winner's mentality. It's possible we have the First Team All-B!tchy Body Language team. Where if things are not going right, we fuss at the refs and mope, etc. Last year Westbrook brought the opposite, instead of looking for excuses when we lose we had swagger, even when we lost LOL.

Maybe not Kyrie but I don't see that player on our roster right now. The cold hearted Jason Kidd type. The fiery Giannis type. The Truth Paul Pierce type. Someone willing and able and inclined to take the game over and carry the team even when and especially when things are going against them.

I've always been more of a John Wall type fan rather than Bradly Beal. More so with the covid situation. So trade Beal for Simmons and Maxey. Then we're a good defensive and rebounding team. Simmons would play a point forward role, and wouldn't need KCP there. Would then need another trade to shore up the SG spot, or tell Bertans he's now an SG. He's certainly not a PF, even though we pretend.

KCP has been a SG almost his whole career. If Beal were traded, he'd be our starting SG.

If I could get Simmons & Maxey for Beal, I'd do it in a minute -- especially b/c of the uncertainty around Brad's future.

But that trade would make little sense for Philly. For starters, how does Philly find enough minutes for both Brad & Seth Curry?

Plus, that trade leaves us with 16 guaranteed contracts. We'd really have to send out 2 guys in order to take 2 back. &, given that we'd put Simmons at the 4 -- where we already have a lot of players -- who's the other guy we'd send? Rui? Kuzma? Deni?

& if they send both Simmons & Maxey, who becomes their starting PG? & who backs up the position? Maybe Curry would move to the 1 for them...?
