Nope! Kyrie is not about that corporate life.

6-hour uninterrupted Twitch streams, tho...c'mon. Truthbombs upon truthbombs upon truthbombs.

Amazon owned twitch seems like a perfect place for Uncle Dope.

I’m more curious about which current NBA player is going to take the torch from Frank Thomas to rep Nugenix/Extenze. Money is on Dwight Howard but would prefer Boban.

You can agree with said belief system or not, but he is demonstrating to many people how to keep their integrity when faced with the pressures of social adversity. Laugh it up if you want to, but our society has serious issues and I respect that this is more important to him than sportsball. He should take the year off at this point, though.

We. Shall. See.

Andrew Wiggins supposedly had a "belief system" too. Turns out the moment his pocketbook was threatened, his belief system was as flimsy as a wet Taco Bell napkin. I'll happily circle back to discuss Kyrie "Man of Convictions" Irving if he retires over this thing. And I've long advocated for Kyrie-to-the-Bucks deals on this board with full knowledge of him being a Flat Earther. Flat Earthers don't actually hurt anyone. They're just low hanging fruit to collectively point and laugh at. But there is nothing funny about Anti-Vaxxers.

Just going to say that convictions in and of themselves are neither good nor bad, admirable nor shameful. It's the good you do, the harm you do. Kyrie does some of each.

I think the bigger this gets, the less likely Kyrie folds.

Perhaps Kyrie just doesn't actually want to be a full-time ball player?

He's crazy talented enjoys the game he just doesn't want it consuming his life.

I'd say to Kyrie what I've always maintained I'd say to him the last 3-4 years. Retire.

As Barkley said not too long ago, it's mind-boggling that he can act like he's this miserable in life when so many people bend over backwards to give him what he wants. But if he really is this miserable and "committed" to his beliefs, however moronic his beliefs actually are, then he just needs to step away from basketball and find happiness elsewhere.

.....He won't of course, because he's an entitled hypocrite who ultimately wants to get paid millions of dollars to enjoy "the lifestyle" and all the benefits that come with it.

Seems to me a Kyrie for Simmons trade would make sense for both teams. The Nets could play Simmons anywhere - including center, and he'd add a level of defense that could make them special. Kyrie was almost superfluous playing with Harden. He'd be the scorer/distributor that Philly needs to combine with Embiid - though he is a nut. Both would be playing with more than a bit of a chip on their shoulder.

Kyrie is a goose. Refusing to take free, life saving medicine is not the hill to die on.

C'mon Elton, whadya think Simmons is for Philly? Kyrie's issue goes away if he's not playing for a NY or CA team.

Life-saving? It’s this kind of thing that’s delving too much into politics but also what a laugh to use that verbiage for a fit NBA player.

Maybe it wont kill him, but it could hamper his cardio vascular health going forward.

Ιs there a list where we can check which player is not vaccinated? Even a list with the teams that have said that "everyone has been vaccinated" is welcome. Not for politic reasons, but I have to do some research for my Fantasy League before the draft, it's year 8 and it's more competitive than the Pacific Division in the last few years...

Kyrie is a massive attention whore, contrarian and pseudo intellectual. He does a ton of charitable work that deserves recognition and praise but I'm sick of all the other **** with him and sincerely hope he retires.

The vax situation isn’t as clear cut as either side makes it out to be. I had to ride out a horrific situation with my father a few years back where he had a Guillan Barre reaction to the flu shot. It isn’t fun watching your father paralyzed, body functions slowly shutting down, and the docs not able to sort it out. Thankfully after a couple days we got him properly diagnosed and reversed with IVIG. Took about another four months for him to get back to normal. And he was very fortunate to recover. But we basically thought he was gone, as did he.

The challenge with the vax is that there are people who have some terrible side effects. And unlike the 1940’s, cases with side effects today are reported far and wide, causing more panic than necessary. In the olden days, those with a rare bad vax reaction just died (or other) and you never heard about it, because the diseases of those days were so serious, you absolutely had to have the vax, side effects be damned. My family and I are fully vaxxed. People should get the vax. But I respect the position Kyrie is taking, even though I can’t agree with it.

As for the Nets, they knew what they were getting into with Kyrie, albeit they couldn’t predict this particular angle. If you team up three superstars all with known issues (egos, injuries, etc) you’re going to get imperfect results. This wasn’t the LeBron/Wade/Bosh pairing of 2010.

OK then, get the VAX and sit out in protest. Stronger message, imo.

I love Le Batard, but Dan is guilty of this. He was doing it today. When a person is blatantly showing you (with huge glowing signs) how stupid they are, you can take them at their word!

Kyrie is just a contrarian weirdo. He has no principles or cause to speak of. Pseudo intellectual is a perfect description. He thinks he's smarter than everyone so when the majority zigs he has to zag just cuz.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”
