Both earning $35mill this season , Simmons came to his senses and will collect his hard earned , Let's see if Kyrie want's his or at least most of it if traded to a No Vax ok team.

Brooklyn can still win the title without Kyrie, and they likely would have won it last season had Harden stayed healthy.
Philly on the other hand wont even stay in contention unless they have a fully engaged Ben or are able to trade him for a decent return.

Re: Worse situation? 76ers or Nets?
I think the Kyrie situation is more problematic. He seems to have enough conviction in his beliefs to carry this thing out. And I don't think the NBA is budging on their stance.
That said, obviously the Nets are far more equiped to handle him just disappearing from their roster. Assuming health, they've still got a better team without Kyrie than the Sixers have with Simmons, and are still the favorites to come out of the East.

I mean the Nets still have two superstars but Kyrie has low to no value as of today. Simmons will at least go for 60 cents in the dollar.

The fact that a 29 year old guy in his prime is threatening to retire if he’s traded AND people actually believe he’ll do it, is really impressive to me.
S/O to Kyrie.

Certainly the 76ers. Nets still have two of the top 5 players in the league.

Sixers. Simmons is a young, healthy core piece with a long term deal. They aren't a contender without Simmons or a replacement with similar impact.

Nets, they won't win a title without Irving. He is stuborn enough not to get vaccine shot. Simmons will play with 76ers until they get good value for him.

Re: Worse situation? 76ers or Nets?
Kyrie just needs to get the same shot millions of us already have and there is no more situation.
Ben Simmons has a long road to redemption in Philly, like he has to be a major factor in a playoff series win before those fans let him off the hook. They don't care if he puts up 40 PPG this year and wins MVP, DPOY and every other piece of hardware. They want titles or blood.
If he gets traded, he has even more pressure to win wherever he goes.
both of these guys are FOOLS and there are hundreds of NBA veterans, guys who built this league into what it is - that are scrapping to make a living now - and these guys are risking 30+millions dollar paychecks because they can't have their way.

Nets can not win the chip without kyire, the other two won't make it the whole season healthy.

Re: Worse situation? 76ers or Nets?
Even without Kyrie, the Nets are at worst have the 2nd best odds to win the title (depending on your opinion of the Lakers).
Mills/Harden/Harris/Durant as your main 4 starters - mix in Blake Griffin, LaMarcus Aldridge and Paul Millsap at center, or in bigger lineups 2 of the 3 with Durant sliding to the 3 and Mills or Harris in the backcourt with Harden. Mix in Bruce Brown as a minutes eater who can defend multiple positions. That's a super solid 8 man rotation, led by 2 guys who at worst are top 10 players. If Kyrie is there and at his best, it just adds a 3rd borderline top-10 player to the mix
In Philly, Simmons has yet to show that he's a borderline top-10 player.
In this league, it's pretty simple, if you have 2 guys who are in the conversation for first team all-nba, you have a chance to win the championship regardless of the surrounding cast. Brooklyn has that with or without Kyrie. Philly does not have that with or without Simmons.
(insert "Kyrie should have stayed in Cleveland with Lebron if he was willing to pass up shots joke" here)

One are a championship contender, the other are not.
I don't know how this is even a question.

My prediction for Nets is that at some point half way through the season the Kyrie situation will get resolved and he’ll come back healthy for a big playoff run and Nets will cruise to a championship.
Durant and Harden will have them a top the East either way.

Sixers - you have a toxic player potentially rejoining the locker room. Don't believe other players can treat it like nothing had happened. It will be mentally exhauting for the teammates to try to stand behind Simmons, who has been hidding like a scared kid in his parents basement during this whole situation.

Re: Worse situation? 76ers or Nets?
Obviously the Sixers.
If Harden and KD are healthy, the Nets are still still favorites in the East. Even with Simmons, the Sixers seem like they've plateaued.
On the optics side the Nets come out looking WAY better. They made a hard decision, but it seems like the other stars support it and they save face in terms of not letting Kyrie walk all over them. The Sixers are basically the opposite. The whole organization seems disjointed and I can't see how long Embiid tolerates this situation. As history shows, when guys who don't want to be there like AD, Harden and Butler are forced to stick around, it doesn't create for a great situation. The only difference is Simmons isn't close to the level of those guys and the Sixers are trying to sell him as that.

Both are kind of in the same situation, it's a decent comparable. Both are over a barrel this season.
