Other than that, I can't imagine an scenario where Harden asks out of Brooklyn.
Yup.
I can see that happening.
Harden’s decline is going to be steep at some point. And he’s wasting his last good years on this Nets team. For me, his popularity/branding/image has declined rapidly, not just because he missed a lot of games. But it’s because of his limited role on this Nets offense.
Another thing is Nets have too much offensive firepower that it’s getting diminishing return. They have to find a way to max out their talent. There’s no chaos for the opposing team’s defense like when u face one of those great warriors or heat team when they’d run up the score board it feels like ur losing control and it causes a panic on your part.
This “taking turn” offense wont work. Because KD is ATG ISO scorer. These guys would naturally defer to KD. Listening to how players would describe KD, it’s like they’re playing with someone out of this world the common response is.. “its like he’s just shooting over practice cones”.
If Kyrie and Harden are at their peak, they would have asked out already because they’re nothing but back-up options in case KD had an off game which rarely happens. And when Kyrie or Harden is asked to lead, it’s like they’re not used to being alpha anymore.
Nets is a squad that should get you 120-130 pts nightly and have those 150-160pts at some rare nights. But they’re current system is not made for them to do that. What they’re built is to win that ISO contest against teams that you see during the playoffs. And you’re letting a lot of variance play its role with that, like that shot by KD where he made it but had his foot stepping in the line.
Getting 120-130 easy with some rare 150-160 pts should have not put you in that situation.
This nets squad has not reached that point where teams and fans complain how unfair that team’s roster is just as every successful superteam in history.
