Re: Mavs Regular Season Win Predictions
50-55 wins. Say 52 for this. Reasoning. Mavs played a month without 3 starters, the 4th starter came back from surgery and mavs still had a 42 win season in 72 game season. 10 more wins should be possible adding no corona,, 10 more games and the squad feels harmonic and enthusiastic. What speaks against it is that we lost a very good coach and we dont know if kidds system will work right away, if he gonna experiment and such.
But 52 wins seems reasonable. If it lands us 3 or 4 in the west, thats ok

Re: Mavs Regular Season Win Predictions
56-26 3rd seed
I will say that I'm very concerned the Mavs are only the 5th or 6th best team in the West, but their record will be inflated by the absences of Kawhi, Murray, and Klay. Assuming all of those players are healthy & back in old form come playoff time, the Mavs may not be the 3rd best team in the West taking the floor for the start of the playoffs. But, this is regular season predictions.

I'm even more concerned TBH. I've got the Mavs as 7th in the West at the moment, although they could beat out GSW for 6th. On the flip side, the Mavs could easily be 8th too, if the Clippers are able to stay close until Kawhi returns. I don't think there's any danger of falling below 8th though, unless Minnesota get Simmons. Then there could be problems with potentially becoming a play-in team.
Suns
Lakers
Jazz
Blazers
Nuggets
Warriors
Mavs
Clippers
---
Timberwolves
Pelicans or Kings

I don't see the Blazers ahead of the Mavs. If anybody concerns me there it would be Memphis. Warriors are in a really wide range of outcomes like the Mavs. Wouldn't surprise me if either team finished 1st in the West or slid to the play-in game.
On paper, Suns, Lakers, Jazz, and Nuggets all seem like solid choices to pick over the Mavs, but we know somebody always has a serious injury and falls back from where we thought they would be at. Please Lord do NOT let that team be the Mavs this year.
Imo, I'd favor the Suns, Lakers or Nuggets to be that team. MPJ has a history of injuries & is now going to be asked to be a leading scorer for the Nuggets night in & night out. Can he handle it? AD has an injury history. LeBron has had injuries the past 2-3 years now that he's getting up there in age. Will Bron & Westbrick work on the floor together?
More than anybody, I would expect CP3 to miss a long stretch of games with an injury & the Suns to drop from top 4 to the 5 to 7 range. Suns were extremely fortunate last year with no major injuries. Odds say their luck doesn't continue this year.
Take the Blazers out, and either 1 of the Suns, Lakers, or Nuggets, and we see it almost the same way. Mavs in the top 4/5. Maybe at 4th. I could see that.
