Jon Gruden former coach and GM of Los Angeles Raiders Raiders resigns after blatantly racist emails. I wonder when ESPN has the audacity to once again peddle the idea that ‘Boston is the racist town’ which is why players should prefer LA.

Thought of the day:
The ground rule double off Renfroe's hip is the Sox version of the Tuck Rule play.

I don't like stringing a guy up for like one misspeak but with Gruden it seemed like a continued pattern of pretty reprehensible stuff. At least he had the good graces to step down. I can't imagine too many of the players would want to play for the guy after this.

I personally was not even anticipating a Red Sox postseason run this year which makes this even better. Really great to see since Boston sports has seemed too lackluster lately.

I was shocked by the Sox win. I thought Tampa Bay was one of the best teams in baseball, along with the Giants and Dodgers.

I haven't followed the Sox much in years but caught a few innings against Tampa Bay. Sox beating or losing to the Rays or any other team wouldn't surprise me too much.

In baseball probably due to the importance of pitching, luck and players getting hot/cold, a superior team losing to an inferior team doesn't surprise me too much.

Caution the following could be construed as a meaningless rant.

Patriot Haters:
Nick Wright (The closest I ever got to serious sports was the checker club)
Rex Ryan (I never got to the big game; but I could have beat them if it weren’t for Tom Brady, all that junk food and my wife’s feet)
Darrell Revis (I got my only chip there, but the culture is too business like, just no fun)

I feel better now.

Pathetic conservative playcalling from start to finish. No feel for the game whatsoever. You knew once they punted the game was over. Belichick coached like a scared coward.

I think Belichick outcoached McCarthy.

The Cowboys just have too many weapons.

Over 500 yards in total offense and the Cowboys needed OT to beat the Pats.

If the Cowboys had that much yards against any other team, it would've been a blowout.

The Pats are very close to being a good team, perhaps just a season or two away from being one of the better teams.
