The Kyrie situation in a vacuum is worse, but the Nets are still over all in a better position because they're still title favorites.

The main basketball value to Kyrie was securing Durant. The Nets don't really need him. However his situation is worse than Simmons. Ben Simmons for all his flaws is at least a rational person. Kyrie is certifiable. You can't reason or rationalize with him because he's pants on the head crazy. Hes the most coocoo for cocoa puffs star we've had in the NBA.

I wonder if that's still the case, this little bit of news changes a lot.

Like, they might lose Harden to FA because of what he's doing.

Depends how you look at it, we're not title contenders with Simmons so this whole situation is kind of irrelevant in regards to this season. We aren't competing for a championship. Nets are, and loosing Kyrie potentially makes them more human and less scary.

The Nets don't even need Kyrie to win a championship

Nets are title contenders even without Kyrie, though I wont base my argument on title aspirations.

Kyrie probably wont vaccinate and will not be able to play at all, he has no value and a big contract, he is now just dead cap space for the Nets.

Simmons has a lot of suitors, he might have tanked his value, but a huge number of teams want him, he reapproached the team now, and they will probably work a deal out where the Sixers can get something back.

In my opinion Kyrie situation is worse

The Nets are probably the better team.
But as far as the Irving situation vs the Simmons situation?
Give me the Simmons scenario every day, that guy is at least sane and is motivated by normal things.
Kyrie at any moment could announce retirement and that he's moving to Mars.

The nets can probably win a title with Irving on the bench. So I’d say Sixers have a bigger problem.

The Sixers can't win even with Simmons lol

Trade drama related problems are relatively common, a star not playing because he's a dumbass is kinda unique.

Clearly it's philly Nets are still contenders. Meanwhile Philadelphia with Simmons still isn't a contender.

The Nets are still favorites and have a stacked roster even without Kyrie. This is easily Philly. Not sure how it's even close

Nets. Even if Kyrie gets vaccinated, he's still a part of the team. A benign tumor is still a tumor in your body.

Sixers at least will get rid of Ben Simmons and he can win another Rookie of the Year somewhere else.

The Sixers would swap Simmons for Irving without thinking twice. That should answer your question

This.

Nets still have Harden and Durant. They'll be ok.

Definitely Irving..

Simmons wants to be traded, Kyrie can't be traded since he will likely retire..

76ers can move their toxic situation whenever they want

In terms of trade value. Nets are in a worse position. You literally can't get anything back for Kyrie. 76ers can at least get something back.

In terms of chances things might work out, then I would say Philly is in a worse position. Ben Simmons is basically out of the 76ers, he doesn't want to play there and he's not happy period. Nothing can persuade him to stay and he just will not put up good numbers, he will eventually be traded. Kyrie Irving just needs to get the jab and he can play.

Nets because Simmons is at least tradeable. Kyrie has said he'll retire and no sane GM will trade for him anyway right now.

Nets, at least Philly controls most of their future draft picks.

The Kyrie-Nets situation is worse than the Simmons-Sixers situation. If that's what the question is asking. Ben has already flown back to Philadelphia and plans to be reintegrated with the team shortly.

Kyrie Irving is threatening retirement if traded (eliminating his value), while also being blacklisted from the team because of his unwillingness to get vaccinated.

Clippers need to consider a trade for Irving, even if it means not playing him in home games for most if not all of the season. Kyrie is definitely cheaper to acquire right now than Simmons, in addition to being a far superior player.

Kyrie for Kennard and Bledsoe may do it and would be an enormous bargain for the Clips. Kyrie's skillset would be sorely needed in LA, he would still be able to compete and maybe he would consider putting off retirement. I wonder if there is talk of a buyout?

Sixers for sure. The Nets don't even need Kyrie to win the chip, they just need to stay healthy. That team is ridiculously stacked and have the two all world players with great role players. Sixers have one superstar that can get hurt at anytime and hasn't shown consistency in the playoffs yet. Besides Embiid they have a decent player in Harris, and some decent role players but I don't think they have a chance at winning the finals unless other teams get ravaged like last year. Whether Ben stays or not, I don't see the needle moving at all for them.
