For real?!?!?!?!?!?!?

We don't know for sure if he's vaccinated or not. He can't rejoin the team yet due to health and safety protocols which would suggest he may not be vaccinated.

Totally unrealistic for too many reasons, but an Irving for Westbrook trade would make so much good stories and drama.

Can't speak to the Nets side or Simmons vaccination but Kyrie is an unpredictable distraction and has gone way beyond eccentric as someone else noted. Fit-wise, Embiid, Kyrie, a bunch of shooters and depth sounds like a contender. However, Kyrie can't be relied upon at this point.

If Kyrie can somehow demonstrate to teams that he won't retire then he will be traded. Not sure hour he can do that. I guess a lot of videos of him playing street ball and training would be a good start.

But even if he can convince teams he won't retire and is committed to the sport, there's still no rush for Philly to trade for him because he's terrible in the regular season and Simmons is great in the regular season. So even an uncommitted Simmons playing lazy is going to help you grind out more wins than injury-prone, heroball Kyrie.

Why on earth would Philly want Kyrie? You can’t count on him at all. They are far better off trading Simmons for guys who actually want to be professional and play basketball.

it's a natural serendipitous trade

both are dead weight for their teams
both are numbskulls
both teams want to get rid of them
both teams view the players as bad for chemistry
both are immature, one by age the other was born that way
both are impactfull players when they want to be
both can be traded straight up
both could help the other's team
both would want to prove their former teams wrong and they're in the same division to prove it

it would be GREAT theater and i'll bet nets/philly would get the highest tv rating amongst basketball fans/cogniscenti, better than lakers versus anybody

i think the nets would jump on it, but i think morey would balk.
AND there's no math involved as both talents are basically equal straight up. no 2for1's or any such package deals.

the nets and philly could just drive em to the holland tunnel or whatever and trade them at the border, armed guards on both sides like in the movies. maybe the nets give philly some gas money for the longer drive

If Simmons is or is willing to get vaccinated, I still see the Warriors as his best, most ideal, landing spot.

Why trade someone who doesn't show up when needed for someone who literally doesn't show up?

Brooklyn doesn't have any picks to trade until like 2037.

we can debate who has the greater value but essentially kyrie and simmons are equal if there's no quibbling

Young millionaires with generational wealth acting like this makes me want to vomit. Spoiled, entitled babies. I hate both these people. They make in one GAME what I do in 4 years. We're in a pandemic where thousands are dying everyday, and millions are behind on their rent and losing their homes. Just ban them from the league. I hope there's a spoiled little baby clause in the next cba.

So difficult to make these types of trades work
1. Kyrie is nuts, not just this vaccine stuff but you never know when he's gonna decide to just stop playing. he took a mid season vacation last year too
2. Kyrie is an expiring contract
3. When both are playing, Kyrie is a SIGNIFICANTLY better player than Simmons.

Just so many factors to consider with players of this magnitude.

Philly would be trading a headache for a migraine.

He’s gonna head to Dallas for Porzingis. Cuban is a high risk high reward guy and Kristaps provides size and shooting around Harden/KD.

Trading one set of problems for another, not even worth processing the admin for either side surely

Obvious answer: Philly would rather wait for Portland to implode and get the PG that has higher value, brings zero baggage and provides scores of leadership.

Let's be honest, Brooklyn would likely jump at the opportunity of Simmons a tall, penetrating defender to play along 2 scoring machines. Philly ain't dumb. If Kyrie would choose to torpedo KD/Harden, he'd wreak havoc on a team with goofy ass Embiid and loose tongue Doc. Philly couldn't contain Ben. You think they could contain Tasmanian Kyrie? No brainer.
Those last 70 seconds, Randle in a nut shell.

Awful 2 for 1 3PT attempt when we are up 2
Doesn’t close out on Sabonis --> open 3
Takes another side step off balance 3

We got sucked into the Randle vortex where all good feelings go to die.

One of them does nothing on the court and the other can't even get on the court. Seems like a move for the sake of making a move.
