Looking sloppy, low percentage shots and turnovers. How does that happen after we looked unstoppable 4 minutes ago.

I think we need to pencil in Claxton in at C. I'm not sure if I like Harden defending PGs though

I absolutely loved the Carter/Harden/Harris/KD/Claxton lineup. That's probably our best 5 right now.

There's gonna be some growing pains in our rotations. You could see the fit is little weird when you don't play the right players together.

Overall that was a good half though. Very sloppy at times but the defense was solid. They only scored that much because of strange offensive rebounds and turnovers.

We have a solid roster. I think that we may need one more ball handler in the long run but we have a lot of versatility and defense. Being able to rotate Clax, LMA, Blake and Millsap up front is great, and the bull dog unit of Carter, Bembry, Johnson and Brown give us a bevy of options.

Right now it's just developing chemistry and managing to stay healthy.

I’m worried about Harden; he’s playing like a pure PG now. We need him to score more with no Kyrie.

We need to move the ball as well. Let KD worry about the ISO stuff. Harden will still get his

It figures the one time that Cam decides to pass, Carter bobbles the ball and turns it over.

I'm not a fan of the Harden/Harris backcourt combo defensively but I think we gotta stick with KD at SF and let Paul and Blake man the 4. The rebounding looked much better

Start Claxton, let LMA run with the bench unit. That way we can dump the ball down into him for offense when he's in there with the bulldogs

Just from what I've seen in preseason:

LMA can get buckets but we need to be careful. He still gets all star respect from the team and he's just not that kind of guy. I think he stalls out the offense with his post ups and his defense is very shaky in today's NBA. Nash needs to be smart when using him or he could easily turn into a negative.

Johnson is a nice third string guy but I don't think he's a regular rotation guy. His defense is inconsistent and he can't shoot.

Millsap is still finding his footing. I don't expect him to be great but he clearly needs to develop chemistry with some of the guys. He looks a little out of place but I think he can end up being an important piece - especially against big wings.

Bembry is interesting. I think his defense and IQ make him a legit rotation guy but the fit is gonna be rough. I think the goal is gonna be to only play one non-shooter at a time. We have 4. Claxton, Brown, Johnson, Bembry.

Claxton 100% needs to start or play as much as possible. He's a terror defensively. He's our only lob threat. He needs experience.

Nash is gonna have some tough decisions. Blake, Millsap and LMA are gonna have to check their egos this year. I don't see how all 3 play consistently unless we bench Claxton or play super big. Both of those are bad ideas against most teams.

I know it’s only preseason games , but we got full training camp and I’m not impressed tbh , KD will get his as well as Harden but all this guys who said " that they don’t care and Kyrie could retire " you’ll be praying by game 10-15 for Kyrie return , yes he is that huge difference maker for this team

100%.

Claxton absolutely needs to start and be allowed to play through mistakes. He is our best defensive player. He should start and finish games.

Also, I want to see us get Patty Mills more involved when he's on the floor.

Kyrie isn't here. We have to work with who wants to be here. I really don't consider him apart of the team anymore and based on Nash's comments, neither do the Nets. Everyone has moved on.

It looks like players will have to learn their spots and Nash will have to choose wisely on which rotations to use to best help the team. I expect a shaky start to the season but as November approaches, I am hoping we are atleast seven games above .500 with some chemistry formation. It's gonna be a tough season for the Nets.

You understand this and I understand this, unfortunately he doesn't; and as far as I am concerned, we have the franchise player on the team, KD, it's his team and as long as you have him, you always have a shot at a ring. Nets will make another move and shock the basketball world once again. Them rescinding their 186 million offer to Kyrie means they won't offer an extension when/if becomes a FA. I expect Harden to resign if they win it all this year. If they can get Lavine next off season, the team has it's future star.

What exactly concerned you about preseason? Even with a full training camp, this is basically a new group. I saw a lot of good things mixed in with some typical preseason sloppiness and rust.

We won't really understand this roster until December at earliest. But I see good things, some bad things, and room for improvement

Just wondering, did Harden do this back in Houston. I mean he mentors Nic like his little brother. KD did look out for him too but there was no such connection like with beard.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
