Bamba Number 5 Official Hype Thread

Easily the best story we've had in years, even if we've only seen him play in preseason. His main criticism — motor, seems to be almost completely fixed and he's showing some great moves out there.

Rejoice, Magic fans

I'm happy to see him do things, but when I watch him, I can't help but think he'd be even more impactful if he ran even harder. Is he still getting into full game shape?

He will still make mistakes obviously but the talent was always there, he also looks healthier and less winded and obviously bulkier.

I would hope even the Bamba detractors still want to see him succeed.

I hope he can stay healthy and get 20+ mpg this year and they extend him by the 18th.

No reason to extend him yet.

While improved while on the court, he has to prove he can stay on the court..

We probably aren't going to get any free agents next season, so I'd go ahead and lock him and Wendell up.

If he does stay healthy, theirs a chance a team offers him a huge deal. We could also put certain terms in the contract based on health.

I know the quality of opponent wasn't always great, but this year's preseason was arguably Bamba's best sustained stretch defensively in his NBA career.

He had a 15.63 block percentage

We've already taken the chance extending 2 injury prone players, can't have 3.

While Bamba is a great person and would be missed, we can not invest 10+M in him right now. He' s not a make it or break it player, the cap space is more important next summer.

There has been points of this preseason where Bamba is outhustling everyone else on the floor... which is something when you have Cole and Suggs on the team. I can't believe what I have seen in these last 4 games. Keep it up young fella.

Money is a powerful motivator. I’m here to watch him play to his potential this season.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.-John 3:16

Go Magic, Go Dwight, Go Vuc, Go Paolo, Go Keegan :)

Is Bamba injury prone? He had a tumor. It was removed. It's called a Cliffordectomy.

Damn, that is a hell of a quote! ahah

I think Cliff was a better coach than most credit him for, but as with every coach in this league he has his flaws and had his own share of responsibilities on the lack of development of some players. Bamba was never able evolve properly under his coaching and that's obvious.

Now, he's also having a case of Contractyearitis, which inflates stats and pumps fans. It needs to be weighted in too.

The Bamba to Carter pick and roll is unstoppable on offense. Would ex-Coach Clifford had contemplated that set play?

He has been great. Most effort I’ve seen from him so far.

Letting WCJ dribble into the paint is one of the most poignant I’ve seen Mosley run.

He clearly runs some Dallas plays where Dwight Powell does it.

Nothing involving a young player not named Dwayne Bacon would have been considered by that former coach.
We could have lost a great player that we drafted due to the whims of an old-fashioned coach.
I can't believe there's still people who say that we should thank Clifford for "bringing this team back to the playoffs"...like if that means something at all.
That's BS. It was only a smokescreen to don't accept we were mediocre as hell and rebuilding was the only solution for this organization.
Thank god it has happened. I can't be happier to start seeing the Mo Bamba I though we drafted, in a magic uniform.
