Its only PS, but Josh is showing a much better ability to score than Kyle. He is also shooting better than Rubio (And has a better shot IMO).

It seems lazy, but a poor mans Luka really is the best comparison, unless I am missing someone. I just cant find one better.

I expect 14/4/5 this year w/ 32-34% 3PT shooting. I think that shot improves w/ time as well. Its very workable, and while a slow release he just finds ways to get open.

How in the world do you get a poor man's Luka when Josh Giddey has a broken jump shot, low scoring aggression, low shot creation ability and a shakey handle?

Josh Giddey is closer to Grevis Vasquez, Shaun Livingston, Ricky Rubio than Luka Doncic.

A poor man's Luka Doncic is Joe Johnson, Gordon Hayward, Jalen Rose.

Man, I just wholeheartedly disagree. I think Giddey has a better rookie year than any single season of any of the 3 guys you mentioned. In fact I would be shocked if he didn’t.

I think he ends up a Hayward level player. A few stylistic similarities but mostly just on the same level. A quality #3 that makes consistently good decisions. I think Gordon can be a #3 on a ring team and when all is said and done, I think Giddey can be the same.

The Thunder need to find that #1. That’s it. I truly think they have a deep playoff team caliber #2 and #3 already. Obviously not right this moment, but in a few years I see SGA and Josh at that level.

I might be wrong, but this is one I really have a feeling about.

I agree that OKC need another star. Chet Holmgren would be a ridiculously nice fit..

OKC lowkey has a nice trade package for a star ...SGA/Giddey/Dort/ picks for days

This kid is sneaky good already. He'll be a triple double watch type of guy real soon. Just going to have to hide him on defense against certain teams.

I still need to see Cade play in a meaningful game but I would have taken the SGA + Giddey in a heartbeat. OKC has another year or two of sucking left though.

yep if giddey is a solid starter rookie contract that package should land mvp candidate under 30.
as the above poster said, detroit made huge mistake not taking that package in favor of cade.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Trading all their young talent for a superstar leaves said superstar on a team with no talent.

They are going to tank again this year, get a top-3 pick and try to win with SGA/Josh/2022 FRP. They are not consolidating them into a package.

I really like the kid. He's clearly a hard worker he's already added a good amount of muscle. His passing prowess was known (although still wows me a bit) but I will say like some others have said the one way he's similar to Luka is that he uses angles and space really well to figure out what to do with the ball. And when he drives he's been crafty but also surprisingly physical. Now, in the RS he's going to get beat up doing that, but he shields the ball well and uses the rim well. Obviously, is and will be a bad defender no matter how much work he puts in until he gets bigger.

OKC wasn't offering SGA and 6, I doubt they would've offered SGA. SGA is already a rock solid #2 and a top 30 player.

In OKC, that package is better than a star. Ofc, tbd how Giddey really plays out.

But sfsg.

But, he's built like a 18 year old. He's no chance of fighting through screens and will be abused defensively just because of his size, he's going to take a little time to grow. Best thing is he's skillful enough to beat guys off the step but it's pre-season so he's going to have some great night's, then some nights he's just going to get Beaten up

Watching from NBL it’s night and day. He’s grown abit height wise and looks to have put on distinct mass.

Poster earlier said Giddey is bigger than you think, when he was next to Hayward he was ready go. Actually I think his body will be what was a concern in the past will be a downright advantage.

Kids nowadays are mammoth (Zion was a 6”6 250+ that flew out the gym as an 18 yr old lol) don’t know what they are feeding them (food has changed for better or worse) but only Chet has missed out lol.

Giddey is like a taller/bulkier/less athletic but more cerebral Lamelo with less shooting/scoring/defensive ability imo. Both great talents, the NBA is in great hands.

Physically he’ll be fine like Ball (NBL is more physical anyway). Barnes same deal along with other rookies that are sized well (not including centers).

If you’re sized positionally well which Giddey is and then some you’re sweet.

Rookie Rubio wasn’t as big as Giddey and he was fine.

Okay but he’s a long way way even a stratosphere from his true potential which he’ll never get to. Giddey is the safer bet to get there.

What does that mean though lol. Giddey will most likely never become better than current Ben Simmons.
That's depressing to hear as a Thunder fan. Because Ben Simmons is a horrible player.

Giddey might already be a better offensive player than Simmons. The value of Ben comes on defense, he is probably the best non-big defender in the league. But the limitations he brings outside that skill really handcuff a team.

I wonder if the best endgame defensively is for him to keep growing, keep bulking and guard PF on defense. I trust his strenght and toughness more than his lateral movement on defense, so playing PF on D would help alleviate his inherent defensive issues.

Ideally I think he plays forward with another forward that can guard the tougher matchup, akin to Aaron Gordon. Not sure if Poku can be that guy or not. Consistently playing him at PF probably has him getting beat up too much, even if he gets stronger. But he will be a liability either way.

He looks really fun. He was my choice if the Raptors stayed at 7.
I don't see star potential but i think he can be an excellent role player on a winning team.

Yeah I see him playing PF, honestly Poku should be guarding guys smaller than Giddey.
