game plan will also change to include more pass plays. It will be a good test for Justin and the bears' offense.

Crap our depth is nothing now.

I like Herbert but we are pretty run dependent and need more than 1 back IMO.

We have two RB on the practice Squad. So we have jerseys who know the system. We just dont know how good they are. But both came from Oregon Ironically. Also, Nall looks big. Could use him to pound on the D-Line and added blocking. Pierce reminds me of a Cohen type. Quick and good for check downs but cant block on take it up the middle well.

Ryan Nall

Artavis Pierce

Ah--Ryan Nall will need some Brock Forsey vs the Cards type magic-at least he has good taste in his college jersey number. But the Packers ain't Colorado State

Artavious--both these guys are Oregon guys? He might have a little burst / gear to my eye--but undrafted so again those guys probably don't get many carries--but we probably need to run 30+ times to win so they will need to chip in something.

Obviously it will be Herbert Heavy. I saw "Kamara" in the transactions and almost thought it was Alvin--thinking how'd Pace pull that off--but it's linebacker Sam Kamara.

My Bears Goggles were pretty thick on that one....

I was at that Brock game.

That RB room is three deep. Good news is that the Packers secondary is really beat up right now.

Pierce might make a play, he got some run last year and has a bit of burst. They played Nall at fullback a bit last week, I like him but he's done nothing in quite a few opportunities in the regular season.

Yeah we’ve got actual junk on the PS. Hope we just see them for a few plays while Herbert is getting oxygen. Tariq Cohen was a mistake to pay, haven’t liked him in awhile, and now he just sucks up dollars and a future roster spot.

Justin will have some more designed runs, I believe he only averaged 2 a game so far. Not that that seems like a good idea. This guy is all banged up. He hasn’t looked particularly good running the ball lately. Bet he is carrying some damage. He began the year with the groin, now he’s got a knee, a kidney shot, and a banged hand. He sure needs more of that.

I'm glad someone else remembers.
A Train hurt and kind of meh season--then out of nowhere Forsey has a great game and a big run--Kordell played great as well IIRC.
Funny how games like that stand out in bad seasons

Not sure what they used the money for, but the Bears restructured Quinn's deal to kick more money down the road to help a little with the cap this year. Not sure if that was a legal requirement for them to do so to get under the cap or if they opened up the room with a purpose.

If it's the 1st of those things, obviously no choice, if it's the 2nd, boy does it seem like a poor plan to steal from your future for the present based on where the team is now.

Ahead of this week's game against the Chicago Bears, the quarterback was asked if he could ever see himself playing for the longtime division rival.

"No, no," Rodgers said. "It's just not going to happen, man."

it's the same thing either way. they could have cut players to get under the cap this year rather than restructure (jimmy graham, anyone?). from what i'm reading, this move is being done to make a minor depth signing - perhaps an O-lineman or running back. it also shows that management might not be itching to move on from ryan pace. otherwise why let him make another decision that the next GM has to pay for?

the quinn restructure is not yet posted on spotrac, but here is the borrowing from the future ryan pace has previously done by restructuring contracts (in millions):

My prediction: GB 31, Bears 13. Bears D gets their only TD.

ARob is playing today.

Hicks practiced Friday - should be the full defense out there today. Really can't afford to get behind early in today's game - when we're behind, we're predictable and the weakness at tackle coupled with Justin's greenness really limits the offense.

Get ahead, have long sustained drives and let the pass rush make Rodgers miserable.

If Hicks plays, hopefully he can just help keep the others fresh for now. If he practiced Fri that is a good sign but they probably should keep him out, he won’t be in great condition, and the extra week off is better in the long run. If Bears stop the run that will force Rogers to beat the Bears thru the air. Which is what he always does. Hate to rely on the rookie but the only way the Bears counter Rogers is if Fields plays like he did V Detroit. The Packers secondary is all beat up, but their line has talent. Fields seems all beat up himself, must he why he doesn’t run more or better lately

What has been weird when even local people talk this game, is that they keep mentioning GB injured players as the reason the Bears can pull the upset. But they don’t seem to note the Bears injury problems when they say that stuff.

Speaking football, how about unranked Purdue's upset of #2 Iowa, at Iowa yesterday? Yowzers!
