Raptors are right to wait til the last minute. See who is available on waivers from the other teams. We can cut all three if needed.

what if Svi gets hurt?

Bonga is a worst version of all our best players and we have many of them.

This is pretty much it. If Bonga/Dekker get minutes it would be because of injuries meaning that we would need production from these players and Dekker fits the ticket there.
If Nurse chooses Bonga, he's gotta be willing to put in a couple of years of development to make him a good player AND he'll need G-league reps. Why not just waive him instead and have him join the 905 team full time?
Also it might be wise to continue monitoring what other players are waived around the league. Neither of these guys move the needle all that much. There might be a better player/prospect that becomes available.

Dekker can't cut it on D anyway, like Matt Thomas couldn't.

Bonga has looked good in our system on both ends from where I sit. 6'8, plays under control, executes. I agree he could be compared to the new McCaw, not a direct comp but as a guy you want to take a look at because they can defend and show up learning the system quickly.

This is coming from someone who thought he sucked watching him on WAS, and was not in the least bit interested in the announcement he'd be in camp with us. I think there's something worth looking at there for development potential at 21.

I'd put money on it being Bonga over Dekker, at least that's how obvious it seems to me.

How would you compare Dekker's defense to Duncan Robinson? Dekker is bigger than Thomas and seems to have a pretty quick release on his shot. We'll have half court offense struggles this season. Dekker will be needed for spacing.

It was pretty clear that Dekker was going to be the last cut until he did what he did last game. I'd probably still prefer to keep him since he provides this team something that most others don't (3 pt shooting). Bonga is just a worse version of what we already have.

I thought Nick Nurse said we were gonna wait until Monday? This guy is saying it’s today at 5pm. What’s the truth? Lol

Our guys have guarantees on their deals so we don't need to worry about some charge of 15K per day for the next few days.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Wonder if they could offer us something to take on a guaranteed contract, since we don't have a complete roster yet.

Also, do you think Masai and Bobby would keep that last spot on the roster open like they've done in the past?

I know some here hoped the raps had signed Hartenstein. He makes it with the Clippers.

This means Raptors realgm centrefold Henry Giles is being waived. Everyone grab their lotion.

I was rooting for Ish. Hopefully he lands elsewhere in the league.

Do people actually have any proof of this? I haven't seen anything other then a tweet from a player with a rap sheet of about two pages long.

Good decision. Wainwright didn't offer much and Dekker showed up in the final game with a lot on the line.

Yeah, I don't think it's fair to continue to call Dekker out on this. J.R. Smith is the source and not exactly a reliable one. Smith has proven to be an idiot that has done and said plenty of stupid things over the years.

Sad to see Ish go, but happy for Bonga and Dekker. They won't play much unless we are ravaged by injury/covid. I think they can contribute when their number is called.

I'm assuming he did. Maybe they leave a spot open, we'll see. Blake Murphy said Dekker made the team.
