In the meantime, Isaiah Stewart's severely sprained ankle, which kept him out for nearly two months, has barely been mentioned. Glad they were careful with his rehab, as playing on an ankle sprain that's not fully healed can become a chronic problem.
Keeping a young player off the court when their ankle isn't fully healed is about as easy as herding cats. Compared to ongoing problems and possibly wearing a brace for years to come, it's worth the delay and frustration for the player and fans.

Absolutely. Lied about his height, now we learn he's fragile. Plus I heard he doesn't eat his veggies. Move him now before it's too late!

This is true.
Wouldn't be the first time a team reports vague details about an injury yet claims they aren't overly concerned about it, only to see it end up being a long term/serious issue. It would take more than one hand to count how many times this has happened with my 49ers over the last few seasons. I'm not saying this is the case with Cade here, but things like that do happen fairly often.
That said, to me this seems like a high ankle sprain, more than a mere rolled or twisted ankle. High ankle sprains usually take several weeks to heal up properly.
Either way its quite disappointing. On draft night me and my buddy made plans to drive up to Detroit from Indy for the opener to catch Cade's first game, but with it looking likely Cade won't play in the opener we decided we won't be making the trip.

So what's the deal? Why is the team so quite? Is Cade going to play in the home opener or not?
There's been some jokes, amd some are funny, but at some point someone from the damn team has to say something, because otherwise your going to have a bunch of angry fans who made the trek to see Cade, only to see him sitting on the damn bench.
I can't find a single article about his injury, in recent headlines. 2 days ago is the most recent.
I don't want to get into conspiracy theories, but no articles from even thr national press on the brand new #1 overall pick? WTF?
Maybe I missed them?

Out for the year? Great draft, stealth tank? He’s fine and told to take a travel year.

Re: Cade's agent and "team" coming to Detroit to meet with Weaver about when he can start playing.
If his agent is coming to town to have a meeting about when he can start playing, its most likely that Weaver thinks he shouldn't play to start the season. If he did they probably wouldn't need a meeting at all.
It's likely a meeting of where he needs to feel with the ankle physically to be able to play. I'd guess he has to sit out 3 to 5 games to start the season. Hopefully he remains patient and understands that management just wants to be patient now to prevent a bigger issue from occurring.
I am hopeful even without Cade we show a lot of early fight and we split the first two games with Chicago, and then beat one of Atlanta/Philly(will Simmons be there yet and how will his effort and chemistry be?), and then get a W against Orlando as well. I think overall a 2-4 or 3-3 start in our first 6 games is very possible. We actually have a lot of familiarity with our lineups compared to a lot of teams. Very likely with Cade out, all 5 of our starters will be returning from last season. Other teams with bigger moves made over the offseason might still be trying to figure things out a bit.
I would be surprised if Cade isn't playing by November 2nd... but wouldn't be surprised if he misses most or all of our games in October.

The only good out of Cade potentially missing these regular season games better be a top 3 pick in the 2022 draft

Yeah, that video isn't strong evidence for either side of showing he's healthy or showing he has concerning ankle issues.
Livers and Chris Smith are out there as well, and they both are still currently recovering from serious injuries. All of them are pretty much just softly gyrating in place. Its not like they are breakdancing or doing anything that requires a shred of athleticism.
I'm not saying Cade won't play in the opener, I hope he does of course. But as I mentioned me and a buddy had plans to drive up from Indianapolis to catch the opener, but with the uncertainty surrounding Cade, we have decided we aren't going. Its going to take something a lot more reliable than a rookie hazing vid for us to put our plans back on.

There you go. Cade is on course to play Wednesday. Now the team has said something and all you whining conspiracy theorists can admit that you were wrong and settle down.

Eh, I don't think conspiracy theorists invested message boards, but they do appear to be made for them. I can't see that report stopping anyone.

Of course it won't. I'm just enjoying poking fun at the people who, when all evidence is saying one thing, push a narrative that goes in the opposite direction under the logic of "that must mean something is going on." No, that's because that's what you want to believe. Evidence of something going on is what means something is going on. It's like saying "I haven't seen any video of Cade in the last week proving he's alive, so that must mean he died." Extreme example of course, but it literally uses the same logic.

Will be interesting to see if he is "questionable", "probable", or just no injury report at all for Wednesday. He's obviously been looking forward to this moment for a long time so hopefully he is good to go. I'd assume if he is "on course" he is likely going to be doing normal full game scrimmages with the team before Wednesday so he likely will be good to go as long as it doesn't get any worse or get tweaked.
Exciting news for sure, as ankle injuries we've seen can sometimes be a few days and sometimes much worse there are a ton of different types and varying degrees of "sprained" ankles.
