Yeah, but not just any 4/5. We need a guy with size who has nba qualities outside of having size. You get a vet min/2-way guy with size, but can you give him more than 15 minutes on the court if he can only rebound and not get bullied? Guys like McD/Prince can switch and defend multiple positions, stretch the floor, cut, maybe create a bit if the shot clock is ticking etc. A vet min big guy playing 25-30 minutes would improve our rebounding, but he would take away switching/shooting etc. and most probably would have worse total impact than our undersized PF's.

We would have to give up real assets for a guy who has higher impact at PF than McD/Prince for 25-35 minutes, and when I say real assets, I don't mean Layman or Nowell and a 2nd rounder like a lot of delusional people on this board, because that doesn't land you such a guy, I mean Bolmaro or McDaniels plus a protected 1st rounder, or Beasley/Prince/Beverley plus a 1st if we're talking higher salary vets. But people here think Wolves can have their cake and eat it too.

Or...it's just a big banger that can come in for certain matchups. So when we are playing teams that have a size advantage, particularly at the 5, we don't get crushed inside. It's funny, you make it sound difficult, but many teams have better size than us, plus defend better. Also, I never attached a minutes played to my post because it would be completely matchup determined. That might even mean games where Kat starts where he should which is at the 4.

We do have Nathan Knight available when we need more size.

Knight is not what I consider size. He Measured 6'8 235lbs at the combine. We need big, like go against Gobert, Nurkic, Jokic, type of big.

The more I think about it, the more I expect Taurean Prince to be the most frequent 5th starter (between him, Jarred Vanderbilt, Malik Beasley, etc)

I could see us running Vando because we don’t want to pair him with JO. Prince at 4 and JO at 3 with Beverly, Beasley, and Reid. But, I want to qualify that by saying I think Finch will keep things fluid and matchup based.

I just think Prince is the perfect representation of what we want next to our other three in terms of low usage and high impact. And he seems to have good rapport playing off Towns. Watch Towns' assists and you'll see a number of them have gone to Prince.

Your not wrong. You just cannot play JO and V8 at the same time.

That’s correct. Although I like Knight’s physical aggressiveness combined with mobility. I think we can survive against guys like Gobert, Embiid etc if we are able to defend smartly in space, on perimeter.

And what about the defensive boards?

And what about the defensive boards?

I believe that the our biggest problem is team effort on boxing out. Top3 team in boxing out per game are smallball teams such as Miami, Brooklyn, GSW, on 5th place Toronto. Meanwhile we are dead last in boxing out per game.

I could not agree more. Boxing out is not a dying art like Finch said, we just don’t do it enough.

I also agree.

We suck at boxing out and it really is so easy to do.

And it works.

Agree. It’s a choice players to make and if it is not considered a part of defense then we are hosed. Finch has stated defense will get you minutes … I guess we’ll see how he handles accountability on this issue.

Not without dumping salary. I’m totally in on getting him though.

I haven’t played organized ball since 9th grade 20 years ago(wow)…and if I picked up a ball to shoot today my dribbling and shooting forms wouldn’t be that horrific. How!!???
