^i saw this tonight and i figured this is how we should start it off.

time to win a championship. We've got two of the top 10 best players on the planet on our team. An elite marksman three point specialist who is quickly becoming one of the best shooters in NBA history. a top 6th man guard from straya. A versatile assortment of big men, a collection of hard nosed pitbull defenders, and a very interesting crop of rookies.

To say that I'm excited about this team is an understatement.

Hopefully there's more continuity to this season than the last one. KD having to miss stretches because of contact-tracing was just infuriating, as was the lead PG going in and out of the lineup. I'm optimistic about Beard's health, because ordinarily he's an iron man, and it was only when he had to work close to 38mpg that the hammy issues came up.

One thing I hope we can all agree on is that there's still room for improvement, and the Nets should be blowing out teams more often than last season. Also really interesting is how the defense was awful for much of the season, but started to really tighten up by the end. There's also the fact that surely Nash learned a boatload last season, and is going to be smarter this season.

All that said, championships are never guaranteed, and even a key injury or gassed players could derail us. So hopefully our starters get as much rest as needed this time around.

Tom Lorenzo / SBNation is projecting us at 58 wins this season, which is 'only' a .700 win%, but with good health, could that number be even higher? I wonder.

With guys like Bembry, Carter, Johnson, Milsap i think we will see more blowouts.... those are the guys you need on the road in minnesota on day 1 of a road trip on a tuesday in february when your stars are in a coma. so when your not scoring like usually, they muck up the game and keep it close until KD just ethers you in the 4th.

Last year if our stars were blah early, we would go down like 20+ in the first with no dirt dogs to claw us back

Our point differential should be ridiculous this year if all goes well
