Miles also needs to get to the line much more than he does. 113 FTA in 66 games is putrid for someone as athletic as he is. Need him to attack the rim a lot more.

If miles can unlock his scoring the hornets will have a big season. Hopefully he's atleast 16ppg. I think he's capable of low 20's.

NBA teams have until October 18th to sign those eligible for rookie scale extensions. According to HoopsHype, the Charlotte Hornets and Miles Bridges have “have started discussions” and that “some around the League” “believe” that the salary range would be around the “$20 million range annually.”

Deadline for extension is today. Will Miles get that cheddar?
How much would you offer?

4/80 seems about right.

I think the Suns Bridges got 4/90 so I would say right around that number

Letting Miles walk would be Peak Hornets.

We really need to consider investing in good young players.

I’d keep MB and trade PJ, so I look for Mitch to let Miles walk and re-sign PJ.

Really hope we lock him up today guys. He made a pretty big leap last year and has the potential to continually improve. Very good fit with Melo both on and off the court. I'd love 4/80, 4/90 hurts a bit but would definitely do it still. In one of his more recent media abailabilities with the Hornets media, he stated that there's no other place he'd want to play...hopefully a deal can get done so, like Terry, he can just focus on playing.

Completely agree. I really think that right now if I had to choose, I'd prefer Miles at 4/90 than PJ at like 4/60. I hope PJ can show that he's very serious about improving his game, but with him I can't give him the benefit of the doubt on that and need to see it to believe it first.

Rod Boone says it’s not happening. A note to new Hornets fans: this team will always let you down.

Said it’s unlikely that we re-sign him and that the team will have to match someone else’s big offer to keep him.

While this development is very disappointing, it is in no way surprising. The Hornets have always been committed to letting their best players walk, whether the owner is named Shinn, Johnson or Jordan. It’s a tradition which cannot be changed. Like the Panthers and long losing streaks every year.

I'm mostly ok with Miles not getting an extension right now. Next season will be a clear indicator of who he is as a player. There's a good chance he was asking for well over $20M a year right now. Aside from the 20-odd games he had after Hayward went down, he isn't a $20M guy. If Bridges goes back to his former self he's probably a bad contract over about $15M. If Bridges continues his progression and is a fairly efficient 17+ ppg guy, I'll happily shell out that extra money next summer, and give him like 5/$100M+ as a RFA.

Hang on - we don't know what discussions have taken place. This might not be a reflection of the FO at all.

Bridges isn't obligated to accept any offer in front of him. He might be willing to bet on himself this season and look to seriously cash in next summer.

Is your expectation that the FO just break the bank and give him a max offer to ensure he stays?

I forgot about the Klutch angle. Perhaps it's not the Hornets being unreasonable. Just sayin...
