2021-2022 Blazers record predicition

Post#1 » by monopoman » Sat Oct 16, 2021 10:28 pm

Well now that pre-season is fully done I figure we should get our record predictions in for this year.

I will be compiling all the predictions in this thread into the 1st post here. These predictions have to be in before game 1 of the regular season on October 20th.

There are no prizes for this but anyone that nails it exactly right will get some bragging rights at the end of the year when I bump this thread.

I will start it off, I predict a record of 50-32 this year, while this team has not been great in pre-season I think Billups will figure it out and overall this might be the best team Lillard has had since LMA left.

monopoman 50-32
Blazinaway 38-44
Case2012 41-41
mighty_duck 47-35
JRoy 47-35

47-35.
Could be higher, but I'm assuming some injuries.

47-35

Nurk and Nance both miss substantial chunks of the season bot POR resigns Nurk because what would POR do without a promising but perpetually injured center.

6th seed, exciting first round loss.

Lillard demands trade and POR rebuilds.

Olshey fired, finally.

I was hoping and expecting this to be one of the first replies. You did not disappoint. Jroy have it all.

I set my personal over/under at 48.5 wins. The optimist in me says they will win 49 games, but the pessimist in me counters with 48.

Even beyond the usual variance in outcomes that comes with each season (injuries, trades, etc.), I think this season has even higher variance. I think there's a chance the team implodes like the 2011-12 Blazers and could finish with fewer than 30 wins. I also think there's a chance that the team comes together and wins 55 games. Let's go somewhere in the middle with a record of 44-38.

One can easily see Dame getting really upset if Portland comes out of the gate well under .500 and the season
imploding when he demands out.

Hoping we get at least a few more here, last year we got a really good turnout on the prediction thread.

1st post is now fully updated with all predictions before this point.

43-39. I think we'll get off to a slow start but find some form later on.

Well the first game of the season begins in about 10 minutes, and at that time I will be closing off the prediction thread. If some want to still add their prediction they can it just won't be updated in the 1st post.

All predictions before this point have been put in the 1st post.

Well with this season becoming a bit of a tank for the last 1/4th or so of the season most of these predictions were way off, but figured I would bump this anyway to see who was closest with their prediction.

Looks like dunlop2012 was the closest with his prediction.
