Unless a lot of weight is just put on him injuring his back and not having a long career. At his peak I am not sure anyone is more impressive outside of Jordan and probably Kareem, though I haven't seen much of Wilt.

Hoping you've got a list on the way. :)

Not sure I have time and after a while it would probably take me too much research, but it's great to see other's lists.

I'd love to see a list from you!

My knowledge of the game is pretty limited to 1988-2016 or so. Before or after that it gets pretty limited. No idea how good George Mikan was for instance. So other than looking at stats from a completely different era I would be clueless.

And even then all my knowledge comes in the form of teams playing the jazz. Well, and a healthy dose of fantasy ball for a decade or so. So I have a weird built in bias where players that were good vs. the jazz get ranked higher than they should and ones bad vs. the Jazz lower.

But, I do feel like I can rank Jazz players in that time frame pretty well. And while I have Malone ranked very high, I just have Stockton higher.

But I do seem to be alone in that opinion.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

No problem! I have seen some others rate Stockton ahead of Malone, so you're not on your own, but it isn't the general view. I'd love to see your reasoning for it!

Well, they were both great. Can't take away much from either player. But, I think Stockton's skills were more special. He was teh best floor general I've ever seen play. Bar none. Such a good leader too. All he really had to do was step onto the court later in his career and the rest of the team settled into their roles. Like a hive of bees getting their queen back. His gets top marks for efficiency, competiteness, and clutchness as well. I believe he would have been a hall of famer no matter what team he would have landed on.

Malone was great as well. A physical marvel. Early in his career he was a monster in the post, just giving him the ball almost guaranteed a bucket or free throws. Later on, he transitioned into a mid range shooter with quite a bit of success there as well. Unlike Stockon, I'm not sure he would have had the same level of success no matter where he landed. He would have been an all-star no matter where, no doubt. But, I can see a world where he struggled more as a player if he had a lesser PG/coach/team to work with.

For me, Stockton was the Jazz MVP. And Malone a very close second.

[1] Michael Jordan: 10 votes, 829.17 points

Good job, Moonbeam, thanks for the project.
Looks like a great list, even with a smaller number of votes.
I don't mean to be rude but did someone forget to put Pippen on their list?
On that note, I was the only one (apparently) to not have the next 2 highest-ranked players on their top 75, Harden and Leonard. I am aware that I tend to underrate active players until their careers are over, especially with guys who I feel are still "incomplete", i.e. I expect them to do more (like Harden). For instance I have ranked some guys who have already achieved almost everything (Curry, Durant, Westbrook especially with the triple-double records) or who are well past their prime and essentially unlikely to improve their standings in any way (Melo).

The final list only included 6 players I didn't include, so i'm glad I wasn't too far off. Thanks for the opportunity

Great idea, Moonbeam!
I was trying to make a list, but I had only 45 players who made my list for sure. And about 50 guys to fill out the last 30 spots.
But in the end I would have chosen 10 different players.
I would definitely add Dennis Johnson. AD and Lillard are not there yet, imo.
But if this would be the NBA's top 75, I would totally be fine with it.

These lists always remind me of the great players who are omitted, e.g. Yao Ming,Arvydas Sabonis and Bobby Dandridge (not in the top 109) and guys who could easily have been on the list had their careers not been tragic ally cut short: Maurice Stokes, Drazen Petrovic and Reggie Lewis.

Stokes is one of the most haunting "what if" stories in league history. His relationship with Twyman is up there for the most moving part of league history, too.

I now have no idea who the last 14 could be now. The only one I think you can say is for sure is Dominique cause of the outcry of him being left off last time. I understand how unpopular at times he seems to be but I seriously don't know how you can leave Dwight Howard off either with his accolades. Out of Allen/Miller and Pierce/Carter realistically I can only see one out of each group making the list and my bet is on the better players (Allen and Pierce). I'm now convinced that AD may not make the list and I have a feeling they're going to hold his lack of team success in NO against him. Personally the two I'm rooting for is Lillard and Ben Wallace because I feel both guys are kind of taken for granted.
