And there is a Simmons team out.

Sorry, first thing I thought. I like this for both. His health means locking up money is always smart and he's a good player and now the Pacers have him a couple more years.

I'm really happy with this. The money is essentially no raise yearly over his remaining salary, and if it doesn't work out, and he doesn't have MORE injuries (which is always a serious risk with him), 3 years remaining on his salary rather than just 1 would make him MUCH more valuable in trade this next summer.

And it's also nice he's removed from any potential Simmons trade, too, now.

Can I interest PHI in a pre-owned CJ McCollum?

As someone who always liked a Sabonis for Simmons based deal I'm not as sure a Simmons deal is dead

If Indy is to be involved (which they still might... who knows?), we really need to figure out which 3rd team is still looking for a center, and would pay good value for it. Indy could still deal either Turner or Sabonis, along with Levert and other pieces, but Philly doesn't need a Sabonis or Turner.

Personally, I think Indy has built it's roster to more easily sustain a deal of Turner than Sabonis, as Jackson looks closer to the rotation than we may have thought on draft day as a multi-positional flexibility type defender. And Goga still has talent, and untapped potential, though we have to still see if Carlisle values him the way the fans and front office do.

Yeah I figured it would be a three team thing but haven't thought too hard about the third team. I'm probably lower on Sabonis than most though

Dallas fan just mentioning for the 100th time how much Carlisle always raved about Turner. Curious how he would feel about moving a player who has the skillsets he loves from his bigs -- rim protection and spacing.

My guess is Carlisle probably isn't that excited about Simmons. Would take him obviously if the price is right, but he's pretty particular about his offense.

I always thought a trade around Sabonis+LeVert for Simmons was the right value and idea for Indy. You want Brogdon, Simmons, Turner together.

It would need a third team ofcourse.

I get that. I just think that Turner is more easily replaceable in our lineup than Sabonis is. And with Brogdon as the PG (with only really TJ McConnell on the bench), and hypothetically Simmons, too, another playmaker for others like Sabonis makes a lot of sense to me.

This seems like Toronto to me, but it would probably need to be around FVV, or you're looking for a 4th team now.

I could be wrong but I think the Pacers are done dealing unless something is just too good to pass up. I'm pretty sure they want to give this roster a try with a great coach like Carlisle. If the season ends and they are not in the playoffs or just squeak in then we might see some adjustments in the summer 22.

Time to start the LaVert + Sabonis/Turner rumors, then
