The Hornets have always been committed to letting their best players walk, whether the owner is named Shinn, Johnson or Jordan. It’s a tradition which cannot be changed. Like the Panthers and long losing streaks every year.

Hang on - we don't know what discussions have taken place. This might not be a reflection of the FO at all.

Bridges isn't obligated to accept any offer in front of him. He might be willing to bet on himself this season and look to seriously cash in next summer.

Is your expectation that the FO just break the bank and give him a max offer to ensure he stays?

this is always my take when folks chicken little respond to personnel moves

It takes two to tango.

I'm nervous even paying Miles $20mil per year. I have no problem trading his ass or letting him walk if he wants a max contract or anything much higher than that.

He's basically a borderline All-Star, assuming he can play a full season at the same production as last year's purple patch. Otherwise, it's an easy way to lock into a bad contract.

It's also an admission that Miles is not a cornerstone player for the team. I'm sure that's how the players take this sort of thing.

Well good luck on the Lakers next year, Miles. LaMelo will see you soon enough.

Huerter is probably a fair market value for Miles. 4/65 - 4/70 is fair for him.

If what they wanted was 4/80, it’s all on Mitch and MJ.

Well hopefully he'll be extra motivated for this season now.

PJ is NOT the “new MKG”. MKG lacked confidence and was hurt. PJ suffers from a broke man’s mindset…meaning he does NOT even try.

Mitch will panic-spend hundreds of millions on trash players to cover for this screwup. Mozgov contract, Beta version, coming next offseason.

If miles continues his projection from last year, he will get paid a lot in the offseason.

I can see why miles would hold out

Why are you so negative? A lot of this can be seen as “small market” problems. But this definitely is NOT Bobcats management.

Can we at least start out our normal 8-14 before we panic?

We haven’t won a playoff series in 20 years, and making more dumb decisions will not end that drought. Also, a small market just won the NBA championship. Market size is no excuse. It’s all incompetence. Decades of incompetence.

At this rate we might even start 7-15.

The miles situation doesn’t upset me, that’s just business that will work itself out.

The backup centre situation though :banghead:

Should've resigned Zeller. It's mind boggling to me.

I think Zeller just wanted a change of scenery. JB didn't really give him as much respect as Zeller deserved...he was clearly so much better than Biz but JB would start Biz sometimes even when Zeller was healthy. That's inexcusable.
