This whole debacle has made me gain some respect for Porzingis. KP faced nearly as much, if not the same amount of criticism that Simmons did after his postseason, and seemed to (justifiably) want to be traded, but when that wasn't on the table was professional about it and seems to want to work harder to prove people wrong. Simmons should realize that people have short memories, and if he came back and lit it up it would be a hell of a redemption story

I'm fully against this player empowerement era but the way the sixers are handling this situation is plain stupid and so out of the realm of reality and very different to how the previous teams handled these diva superstars demanding out (Butler, Davis, Harden etc.).

I have no issue with the way philly is handling it you cant say your against the player empowerement move and expect them to cave to simmons that doesnt make sense. He came back himself with his tail between his legs and showed up outside the Wells Fargo Center right after he lost a cool million. Didn't even tell anyone - no text, no phone call.

The deck of cards has steadily grown in the Sixers favor over the last week or so. Ben has messed himself up.

Would the Pacers even make that trade at this point? As I mentioned... like, what team is going to take the risk with him now? There's literally nothing stopping him from pulling this crap on another team if he become unhappy with his new franchise. Not sure how many teams are willing to take on that risk when you also consider his contract size/length.

I honestly don't even think I would trade CJ for Simmons straight up at this point... If a potential Dame/Simmons duo ends up being crap and Dame demands a trade out as well, you can bet every dollar you have that Simmons would probably just copy and paste that trade demand email and shoot it off the second Dame does his.

Don't take it as hating on your volume. Just saying when you post as much as you do, you're bound to make a ton of hyperbolic posts yourself. Yep, for all his praise he got in Houston, he really really overplayed his hand here in Philly. He tried to outsmart the room and now it's really bit him in the butt.

At this point, I could see this situation ending up in the courts with the player suing the team or vice versa before he is ever traded. He's become pretty toxic.

This was so easy to predict.. Simmons doesn’t come off well but 6ers FO sure doesn’t either. He was obviously done with PHI, but they didn’t make a deal and didn’t pay him to stay away

Who didn't see this coming? Simmons has been a highly touted/rated prospect since high school who is used to calling the shots since he received national attention and he's explicitly stated that he does not want to be with the 76ers period. And for people saying this is a bad look for Simmons what has given you any indication that Simmons cares what the public and the media say about him. At some point Morey is going to have to cut his losses because if they keep having to suspend him without pay or fine him for his actions around the team you can bet that the NBAPA and litigation from Paul will follow. This is a **** storm at the ***** factory.
