What exactly is he doing that requires confidence?

Could you imagine if we stuck with Colangelo, he pushes Embiid out, and we built around Simmons? Dark timeline.

He didn’t participate in drills. Not much confidence required to avoid drills.

To be able to walk into your workplace and face your bosses, and fellow teammates who you've worked next to for years to totally disrespect them is nuts. I can guarantee that many players may want to do it but would rather avoid the awkwardness of facing people.

I've read many Philly fans saying he's too scared to face the home crowd - I think he'll be willing to show up and chill on the bench to get his money.

Of course Hollinger nailed it.
It’s our turn guys: like the Spurs with Kahwi, like the Pels with Davis and like the Twolves with Jimmy.
The disturbing part is that Simmons is not a decorate veteran with only a couple of years on his contract.
They reformed the lottery for a couple of years of tanking: it’s better they find a way for a team not to be at the mercy of single player.

I’ll be stunned if he plays another game for the Sixers. If he can’t even get through one practice without engaging and being a problem, he’s not going to be on the court for the team. This will end with them sending him back to California again and him staying there until he’s traded.

He showed up because he wants his salary. Has nothing to do with confidence. He's cowering in a corner not talking to anyone. That's why he was suspended.

Is there anything in the CBA that protects a team from a player that isn't trying on the court? Would the Sixers still need to pay Ben if he is willing to show-up? Looks like this is going to go down some uncharted territories soon.

Personally I don't argue Simmons' tactic imho.
The problem is why a guy paid like Simmons (for the next4 years) wants out without a real and concrete issue.

I really doubt Ben can say anything that would sway my opinion - he could've went into practice and just performed like a professional. Just keep your **** together till the start of the season and maybe that would entice a team to take you off of Philly's hands.
