I'll defer to you as certainly being more familiar with Morey than me and I've certainly read all the ridiculous leaked asks(I still don't mind those are really accurate pictures of the conversations fully but maybe I'm naive there), but I still think he would make a reasonable deal if there was one to make. I don't believe its Beal, Dame or bust.

Simmons is an absolute primadonna and I'm amazed that people are defending him.

Two things about Doc from someone who suffered through seven years of his "coaching" - he doesn't hold the stars on his teams accountable for anything, and he plays favorites. Simmons, regardless of his actual production, is viewed as one of the Sixers' "stars." And judging from how Doc spent all last season coddling him and comparing him to Magic, he was one of Doc's favorites too. Despite having both those factors working in his favor, Simmons still managed to be held accountable by Doc. That's how you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that he screwed up and it's not just a smear campaign by the Sixers.

This is a more than fair read on Morey as a GM .

I think this is the key here. It’s not the first time Morey has pissed off a player and it really seems he has no issue burning bridges. The problem is that he wants to burn the bridge and then have his players continue to figure out how to cross without the bridge. Simmons has plenty of responsibility, but there is a pattern here with Morey.

I think nobody here believes Simmons is blame-less .

We are all probably just trying to figure out how much blame all 3 of Simmons , morey and doc shares to get to where we are today.

I do believe that embiid didn’t really say the right things but I’m more willing to overlook his misstep (throwing Simmons during the playoff press conference and making a statement that the team really does cater to Simmons playstyle)

How much does New Orleans value Satoransky? What would be the price to send him into the Dallas TPE?

I should think they value him considering how small their other PG's are. I like him, but I wonder if Dallas would be willing to punt on the TPE when right now I think they feel reasonably good about their guard rotation.

I'd understand the Pelicans waiting to see how the guard rotation shakes out for sure. In the case where he's at the back of it I'd offer a 2nd a the TPE from Dallas. Less sure about their guard/wing rotation than you feel. Though maybe it is too full if Kidd is planning on using DFS at the SF spot for the majority of his minutes if KPs at the 4.

If Kidd decides KP should mostly be a center than yeah I agree, Dallas could use another wing as DFS would have to play the bulk of his minutes at PF, splitting them with Kleber who is unlikely to play more than about half the game. Then Dallas already too many centers problem just gets even more gross though I suppose one of them would be dumped to pick up Sato.

I like the player. And would definitely rather have him than more than 1/3 of the current roster. But with Bullock/Brown/Brunson all quality bench options there just isn't really a lot of minutes for Sato. Or maybe he bumps Brown out of the rotation?

Just think keeping the flexibility of the TPE makes more sense for now for Dallas. But were they to include Brunson in a trade or something I'd definitely have interest in Sato later if the Pels season goes poorly.

This is somewhat at odds with the reports of Morey asking for a bajillion picks/swaps in addition to players.

I say "somewhat" because I guess you can make the argument they can use those assets to get a player equal to Simmons, but that assumes such players become available during the season AND those teams want a rebuilding package.

Maybe. But I'd argue that if Portland is only offering CJ and one 1st they are blowing the one opportunity to maybe be a contender with Dame.
