Seems like this was planned by Ben. He never had any intentions of speaking to the media and he has absolutely no intention on playing with us. There will be more BS in the next few days to get him further suspended. I think he was presented with two choices, make peace with Philadelphia or go the Jimmy Butler, Anthony Davis route. He chose the latter. I suppose we will see how this goes from here.

To be able to walk into your workplace and face your bosses, and fellow teammates who you've worked next to for years to totally disrespect them is nuts. I can guarantee that many players may want to do it but would rather avoid the awkwardness of facing people.

I've read many Philly fans saying he's too scared to face the home crowd - I think he'll be willing to show up and chill on the bench to get his money.

I like to hear bens side of the story but yea just crazy to do that .

I want to hear from him too but its not like the sixers are censoring him. Its 2021 there are plenty of ways to get his side of the story out without talking to Sixers media and that doesn't mean cryptic agent statements. I can understand the type of anxiety he may be feeling and at some points I could even see some of his problems with what transpired but at the end of the day he needs to grow up. The only way to repair his own value right now is to come out and tell his side of the story.

I suspect there is going to be a lot of trades Morey will regret not taking this summer when this is said and done.

Simmons' act since reporting to camp has no question damaged his trade value even more.

Another more realistic thing is, he intentionally wore that because he’s telling everyone he’s just there for formality. So he wont train hard. This explains that photo where he’s not engaged during the huddle.

That’s some kind of projection

He’s just wearing the same stuff he has been recently outside the Sixers

I work for the CIA and has a PHD in Behavior Psychology from Oxford.

But seriously, I think he was just a distraction on the team during that practice and he wants it that way. I dont expect him to play or practice hard.

Not quite obvious but my education from Oxford and experience from CIA confirmed it

Personally I don't argue Simmons' tactic imho.
The problem is why a guy paid like Simmons (for the next4 years) wants out without a real and concrete issue.

if he feels trust was broken, then it's broken. that's real and concrete.

And I suspect your entire view of everything that goes on is trying to convince yourself that eventually Portland will be able to get him for the trash on your team (which is basically everything except Dame).

The biggest one being Kyle Lowry. I wish more Raptor fans would have told us that was an option.

he should have stayed home then...still losing game checks and public opinion.

Losing game checks aren’t as bad as losing the practice day/meetings checks. Those add up to a lot more. Sixers can suspend him without pay for every game and he’ll still be better off having reported than not.

I don't think you're ever going to hear his side of the story because I honestly think the real story is that he is embarrassed by his performance and had his little feelings hurt by what Doc and Joel said in the heat of the moment. And he knows how absurd that will sound to everyone and expose him. If this was really about wanting the opportunity to grow elsewhere, you wouldn't take it to this extreme. This is personal and it's all because sheltered from any criticism his entire life.

The Sixers let Jimmy Butler go, in part, because they were afraid of how things would go with him and his attitude with not fitting together with Ben Simmons.

Ironically, Simmons turned out to be a bigger distraction than Butler ever would have been.

They should just trade Simmons for Kyrie and get it over with.

It's a job not a love story.
Your employer just made you billionaire and treated you like a star.
What do you want more concrete?

ewe no. Rather pay him for 4 years to stay home than get Kyrie

Which is ridiculous in its own right since we've been begging to fail at making threes for five years. Like he thinks he's not allowed to fail here when he plays for the team that gives standing ovations to him and Fultz for even attempting a shot.

I hate Simmons so much as a player...and as a person. What a horrible example of a guy getting paid like he is to be acting like a child. I hope he burns all his bridges throughout this process. The game doesn't need him.

oh no the trash deals are no longer available.

whatever will we do noooooow.

Look its time and ideally should have happened around draft time but I'm not going to lose sleep over not getting zombie Brogdon and LeVert. I'm not going to cry if Malik Jail Time Beasley is off limits now. Buddy 35 Old Hield not walking through that door isn't going to be the end of the world. (also think the latter two are still available anyway)

This sucks. But it always has sucked. And knowing our history probably will get worse...but doing a move just because doesn't really move the needle either. None of the "rumored" deals make us that much better IMO. **** Point Kork and Joe honestly was the hypest **** so far this offseason so more of that is sadly better than any trade right now. I am sure I will be emo as **** tommorow as we lose to the Zion-less Pels as Ingram destroys Danny Green but I kinda was prepared for that anyway.

If he gets suspended enough times team can withold his pay for being outright detrimental.

At the end of the day, if Daryl and the rest of the team can withold the initial circus Ben has to behave eventually.

Who knows at this rate.

Everyone wants a trade, even Doc and Morey, that doesn't mean you have to take the first deal.
