Simmons is a clown. Phi should take Covington McCollum plus one frp if Portland would still do it

I totally get why he trade to drag it across the finish line, but it aint going well.
Hes not getting Lillard or Beal.
He believed he could. He likely turned down some pretty solid offers because of that pipedream.

After everything this summer, this was the obvious move. Morey, Doc, and Simmons have a sit down meeting in the middle of training camp when it really became clear no way Simmons was ever going to be part of this team again.
Those 3 sit down and come to the conclusion that Simmons is officially done in Philly and Morey will be working nonstop until he moves him. And as they do this, Doc and Morey come out publicly talking up Simmons. Simmons also comes out publicly saying something along the lines of, "it was great, we talked and put everything out on the table. But at the end of the day both sides agreed that its best to move on." Philly pays Simmons to stay home and continue to say nice things publicly until the trade goes through.
Does this improve Simmons trade value? Nope. But does it put a little bandaid on it and hopefully stop some of his value from falling? Maybe. Its definitely a much better option than this crap which has completely tanked Simmons value to a whole other level.

Except they want way too much value. Philly has zero leverage here lol
Philly has 3 years to trade him. Does Ben really want to do this for 3 years and ruin his name for 3 years? Sorry they have all the leverage. He doesn't get paid if they suspend him either.
You saying this shows you dont understand how the NBA works right now. The 3 years does not matter at all. The more they attack him the more they make sure no one wants to play there. Its a players league and they hold all of the power.

At this point, I'm not convinced Portland would even do McCollum straight up for him.

I don't think the Sixers want today to repeat itself for 3 years much more than Simmons does. They do have leverage over him but I am a lot less sanguine than you that they're going to be nonchalant about putting up with this media circus for three years.

Morey will allow this distraction to continue.....until they fire Morey or trade Simmons.
Simmons wins either way.
Simmons has been losing left and right, money and trashing his image. He probably be traded by the deadline if they never started this stuff.
Bluffing is a joke. It’s not a bluff if the other side knows what hand you’re holding. Apparently Simmons camp didn’t even look at their own cards before they started amateur hour.
Even Charles Barkley knows what’s. He said they got him for four years and they aren’t trading pennies on the dollar. Period.
Simmons is making sure he's traded for peanuts, its very easy.
Simmons wants his destination team to be as talented as possible, and this is the way to do it.
He’s not the one making the trade. The person who is making the trade is highly analytical. He’s not accepting peanuts. He can just wait for the next disgruntled and trade one for the other. Given there’s a disgruntled star every year, he won’t have to wait long. Some star may want to play with Embiid.

Yeah, all these fans saying "Morey has all the time in the world to make a trade" are living in a fantasyland. At a certain point, these distractions are more problematic to a teams championship hopes than simply not having a player available.

Simmons has shown all the way back to his LSU days that he isnt a hard worker and is happy to do the bare minimum. Guys like that always leave alot of potential on tbe table. 5 years later and he still hasnt grown up. He probably never will.

Other teams are tripping over themselves to make this their own problem.

To the "he signed the contract" people. Do you get it now? You can't force a person to play basketball for you. And why would you want to. I thought Simmons was doing them a favor by staying away. Why drag this circus into your building? Should have moved off him this summer. Now it's nickels on the dollar at best. If there was a way for the team to win one of these ugly superstar divorce scenarios a smarter front office would have already figured it out.

I feel like we are going to get to the point where Philly is going to look into if they have the chance to terminate the contract. No team is going to trade for him at the moment, everyone is just going to continue to sit back and let both sides handle this as poorly as possible and find new ways to tank his value even more.

I find this funny. Morey tried to get $2 for Simmons when his value plummetted to $1. Now he will be lucky to even get 50 cents. His value is only going to get lower and lower from now on.

The problem is it's almost 100% that Moorey is reading the league and thinks the best time to move Simmons is going to be NEXT off season and owners aren't going to tolerate paying him a full year's salary to take a year off. If Moorey felt that he could get the best value by the break, they likely would have done this.

Team tried to do this. Klutch had to force ben to reunite with Doc, Harris and Morey.
He didn't spoke, he didn't manifest anything. He also didn't answered calls after the meeting.
His behavious has been totally unreliable through all of this, he didn't told rich paul he was travelling back to Philly.

I don't for one second think players are looking at this right here and feel that Ben is in the right. This is NOTHING like Harden or even AD.

The 6ers are not going to just give him away man. Don’t you guys understand that or just making stuff up?

This is so confusing. Darryl Morey doesnt understand how modern human leadership work. Frankly questioning how Doc got away with it all these years, but he's always been good at hiring the right personnel behind him, and having his teams buy in. He's awful when his teams don't (i guess its why he leaves whenever he gets the chance).

Re: Sixers Suspend Ben Simmons For One Game
I'm not sure why Ben Simmons thinks behaving like a child (or at the very least not like a professional) is going to make it easier for the Sixers to move him.
Nevermind what any of us think of all of this from a moral perspective, or what you think of Simmons as a person (which Simmons doesn't and shouldn't care about), but it's straight up counterproductive to his apparent goal.
