Thoughts on Ish so far as our back up point guard?

huge reach. 3rd string pg, change of pace. no size, cant shoot. huge downgrade from graham. very concerning, along with entire bench.

I know he’s short, but if scoring was a concern, we should have signed Isaiah Thomas.

I haven't watched a second of the preseason, but this is exactly what I would've expected... it's who he's always been. Having a starting level backup like Devonte' was such a refreshing change compared to our last decade+ of mediocre/bad backups at that spot.

Relax, guys. The off-season has just started. Mitch has plenty of time and he has a plan.

if that plan is to be the 9th and 10th seed for his 4th straight season, he's right on track.

I know, I know. Trust in Mitch, the season hasn’t started yet, we’re not making somebody like Ish Smith our backup PG.

I'm not sure who you're mocking here but literally no one is saying this.

Might wanna check that. I’ve been told all 3 things within the last two months.

I don't really care what you were told 2 months ago. Just say your point without trolling.

Then stop caring when I point it out, I guess? You can decide not to engage.

LaMelo, Hayward, or Rozier can all be the lead playmakers for the bench. And Bouknight has shown a lot more ability in that area than I was expecting. Backup point guard isn't a concern of mine, our paper soft frontcourt sans Plumdog millionaire is what worries me.

I'm a mod, so it's kinda my job to pay attention to trolling and warn those that do it.

Consider yourself warned.

You can express any opinion you want. Just don't troll and mock others.

All the hate against Ish in this thread is REALLY REALLY not aging well. It's early but he's been brilliant.

Said it the other day - he reminds me SO much of an old man version of rookie Walker.

The pace he plays at with the unpredictability keeps defenses guessing and on their heels and allows him to probe and cause havoc.

He's found himself in the ideal situation as well - with LaMelo's passing everyone is always ready, so Ish can play at his frantic pace and know that his teammates wont just sit back and watch, they should always be locked in and ready.

Bonnell was right!

For those of you who know me, know how rare it is for me to say that.

Bonnell wanted Ish smith at Charlotte years ago, (before he blocked me on Twitter) I believe it was while he was at philly.

I can now see why, he is a very handy guard to have, I hope he stays fit and balls out all year

It's funny - I've always though that Mills would be such a perfect back up PG for us with his shooting (not just because of the Aussie thing!!) - and the FO seemed to have made plays for him in the past.

But with this current roster, Ish might actually be a better fit than Mills?

Yeah, he has the water bug fast moves and is a better passer than mills, who has always been best as a small shooting guard
