This can't be repeated enough
The amount of people defending Philly is comical. The dude was slandered by Philly fans and the organization all summer. It's clearly not about money as Simmons is giving up money.
Dude wants out of Philly, which he made clear to the team and fans who threw him under the bus. The organization hasn't been negotiating with other teams in good faith, and Simmons is in the wrong here?
Get real.
No. YOU get real.
The Sixers fan base has supported Ben Simmons like f'n mad. Won't shoot? No problem - he does so many other things! Jimmy Butler suggests in a team group chat some suggestions for Ben before a game? F THAT I AM BEN SIMMONS YO.
(and you KNOW I ain't signing that extension unless Jimmy is outta here)
Coaches want him to work with a shooting coach in the offseason? Ummm. OK. Drew Hansen? Chris Johnson?
Nope - some jabroni assistant coach for a UC team that - coincidentally - also has a last name of Simmons (imagine that!)
Brett Brown says he wants Ben to shoot at least one 3 a game. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
People on this board trying to slander Philly fans for comments after the Atlanta series. Well maybe we are tired of seeing the guy's Instagram feed from LA while his game NEVER. GETS. BETTER.
If you want to defend Ben because he may be having legitimate mental health issues, I am with you there. I think that may have a lot to do with what is happening. But in the absense of that, throwing shade at Sixers fans because, two years after the whole Jimmy-with-the-ball-Ben-in-the-dunkers-spot thing (ALL OF YOU REMEMBER THAT RIGHT?), we go through the same damn thing again.
That's fine... but don't go asking for a kings ransom for the same player you're throwing under the bus.
I'm a Raps fan we went through this with VC (who had 3 years left). The moment you turn on a player (which we both did), his value plummets.
Just be happy you're not getting a washed up Mourning, Eric + Aaron Williams, #16 for Ben Simmons.
Your GM isn't negotiating in good faith and when a situation gets this bad, sometimes it's better to let go, and take the best deal possible. The longer this holds out the worst it gets for Philly.
Ben Simmons + Klutch has all the power in this situation.
YOU. GET. REAL.
Yeah - I hope Rich Paul likes all of those commission checks he is not getting from that escrow account.
So - you think Klutch has all the power? OK. What move of theirs did you like the best, huh? Did you like when they floated the rumor that Tyrese Maxey (another Klutch client) shouldn't do any PR stuff in Philadelphia, because, you know...he might not be in Philly very long. Yeah that was a good one. Maxey liked it too...liked it so much he immediately came out and said he loves Philly and the team. Nice move, Rich.
Or how about the time he got his cabana boy, Brian Windhorst, to say that the Sixers putting the $8.25 million in escrow was "a declaration of war". Was that another example of Daryl Morey and Josh Harris getting pwned by Klutch? Huh?
Or was Klutch's BEST move when they went to the NBA players association after the Sixers started take out some SERIOUS STRAIGHT PAPER when Ben missed preseason games, and said, "hey - they can't do that - right?"
("Well, Rich...OF COURSE they can do that. Ben's holding out. What part of this don't you understand?")
Yeah - Klutch has Josh Harris right where they want him.
(here's a news flash, Rich - don't try to squeeze a guy who made his BILLIONS by squeezing companies as an uber-successful hedge fund manager. you're welcome)
