Lakers looked really bad tonight. Westbrook either standing around watching LeBron and AD play one on one, or throwing up bricks and driving into a packed defense because they have minimal shooting. AD and LeBron both had great nights, but Westbrook makes no sense as a third wheel and the rest of the league is either washed up, not good, or both.

Their defense looked like a joke. Warriors should have hammered them with all of the wide open looks they were getting. Steph doesn't have an uncharacteristically bad shooting night and this could have been a 20 point game. They have injuries, but they don't really have anyone an above average guard or wing defender either way.

Yeah, He's one I really wanted us to sign once Milsap was gone. I remember wanting Bjelica and Noel or Theiss and Noel. Or Bjelica and Howard or Theiss and Howard. But more to the point Bjelica, As I saw him as a better shooting facsimile of Saric more or less. But we still got McGee, and should be pretty good as is for now. :dontknow:

We have a fun/tough opening week. Nuggets, Lakers/Blazers B2B

Based off the stats and what I saw in the last half of the 4th, didn't seem like the Warriors play well either. Gonna be a long season for the Lakers. I'd be a lot more worried about them if they pulled off that Buddy Hield trade. I get the argument that they needed someone to take over Lebron when he's resting and Russ is a force of nature but damn, when they are playing together :nonono:

2021-22 Season/Offseason Speculation

Watched the Nets game… pretty bummed to see Jevon Carter today. I know it’s just one game but saw it a lot last year with the Suns too, he really needs to go back to the dog mentality. I feel like he’s forgotten what made earned him his contract and a fan favorite in Phoenix. Really rooting for him in Brooklyn.

Lakers were a joke. Westbrook is such a bad fit there. At one point, they had Russ with Rondo, Vogel needs to be drug tested.

I actually probably defend Sarver at this point more than most. Or defend might not be the best way to put it, but don't think he is nearly as bad as he used to be and don't care if he sells the team especially given we just had a deep playoff run and have a solid GM and coach in place.

But I don't think anyone can disagree with the fact that if Sarver wanted to get Ayton signed and pay him the max, it would have gotten done regardless of anything else, and if he did not want to, it wouldn't get done regardless of anything else.

But, it's not the worst thing unless he ends up leaving because of it, which in my estimation, is highly doubtful. I think there may be something in place where you can only give a 5 year extension on a max deal, but can sign your own FA to a 5 year deal at less than max (or at least by then you would know if he met the 30% criteria) so in those scenarios, especially the first one, it's not a bad reason to wait. I think in many times it can create discontent, as WeekapaugGroove has pointed out you shouldn't mess with it normally, but I kind of think Ayton is different. I know he's unhappy but that's understandable. I don't think it will make him want to go elsewhere though if we give him a good offer next summer. I'd hate for it to come down to a match.

I don't think a max deal has ever been matched has it? Like a full max, not the 2 year undrafted rookie max amount. I can't think of a time a team actually allowed a guy to get a max offer from another team. Maybe someone like Otto Porter who I don't really think anyone (probably except the team that gave it to him-Brooklyn) thought he was worth. Brooklyn offered absurd contracts that got matched to several players though...Porter, Tyler Johnson, Allen Crabbe, etc.

Most teams sign their 1st round picks...especially the #1 overall guy.

Sarver making history again. Did Utah match a max deal for Hayward? Or what about when New Orleans matched the deal we gave to Eric Gordon?

Utah couldn't match as that was Hayward's third deal.

I meant his 1st one. They kinda cheaped out on him, then acted all shocked when he left.

Hayward - nice player - has been overpaid for what he has accomplished.

Anyone else find the game score data thing to be annoying at the top of the page on realgm? Looks like a new addition but I can’t figure out a way to disable it. I can see the benefit in it but it also serves as a spoiler.

Looks like you can hide it with Adblock - haven't done it yet, but you can choose to select the area (at least on the main forum page).

It's pretty annoying. I can't always watch the game live but I can still post on here so I prefer not to see the scores until I watch it.
