Re: Player of the Game #1 (Bullets @ Raptors)
Harrell without a doubt. He is the perfect 6th man and I was so glad we were able to get him in the Westbrook deal. I know he’ll have tough games when he’s facing a bigger center but most nights, I can see him feasting like tonight.
Honorable mention Gafford who shut down the paint like a boss. I know his raw numbers don’t stand out (other than the 5 blocks) but he was tremendous.

Harrell pretty easily.
Gafford really was effective. Just played really good defense in some really key moments early and late.

Gave it to Trez because the intensity he brought carried the team. If others can bring half that intensity, we would be one heck of a team. So I hope it rubs off. I know thins is Player of the game, but I would really like to give it to coach Unseld Jr. The changes he has made on O and D is really the story for me.

Yes. Give to Harrell.
And special mention to Wes. So refreshing to have finally a coach after 5 years of mismanagement from Brooks.

Toronto couldn't handle the Trez.
Wiz didn't even have to run plays for him - he'd bail out the offense by grabbing rebounds and loose balls like a Hoover vacuum cleaner, and bully his way to easy scores.

Harrell, no doubt -- but it was close between him & Deni, really close. Deni was unreal last night.
Gafford played extremely well too. But Trez & Deni were just incredible.

I voted Deni. He was outstanding. Kuzma was also a ridiculous +22 despite shooting 4-13 and having 5 turnovers. Neto was really impactful and it was clear that the Raptors game plan was to hedge hard and even trap Beal on every screen, which left massive openings for pick and pop 3s and Harrell/Gafford rolls to the basket. Beal was pretty off but still managed a +23. Gafford’s defensive impact was huge.

It was clearly Trez for me.
