Haven't thought long enough about who will receive draft compensation and hwo much, perhaps we have to add Milton. That said, I like the general framework.

Timberwolves would maintain their core with Towns and Edwards and add Simmons and Green for defensive purposes.

I don't think it is realistic that the Sixers will acquire a star anytime soon. Instead we acquire flexibility, some youth, while maintaining a roster that can compete within the East.
Russell is obviously far from a star, but I think he has a role at the Sixers as a playmaker and somebody who has the green light with the ball in his hands. Beasley and McDaniels are decent assets who can potentially develop into more.

Acquiring DeAngelo Russell and his terrible contract is the opposite of flexibility. Short term salary filler and additional picks - that's flexibility.

Disagree. Short term salary fillers will lead to nothing, since the Embiid and Harris contracts will prevent you from signing FA's anyway.

The value of the picks will determine your flexibility. However, they won't net you a superstar unless you acquire multiple top-5 picks. None of the teams that will trade for Simmons will give you that.

Only path to a superstar for Simmons is to trade him for picks and also hand over our entire draft capital. But I'd argue that's also possible when you have multiple value contracts. You can always trade those assets for additional draft picks, similar to what the Nets did in the Harden trade.

It leads you away from having D'Angelo Russell's negative value game and untradeable contract on your roster, so that's a positive for me. I'd rather have the flexibility for Daryl to work the market with the expirings, even if the idea of a max free agent is unlikely. He's that bad.

Simmons was an allstar selection 7 months ago. There is still plenty of value there.

Now is the time to buy on Haliburton, like this summer was the time to buy on NAW, and as we saw now it's too late for that.

Simmons seems intent on making sure his new team gives up next to nothing for him, though.

Problem is I don't think they want to offer Haliburton or Fox. They're like Bagley, Barnes, and .... Love to know if there was a real offer and what it was.

Taking Haliburton, Hield or Barnes, Bagley would be the most we could expect today. The question will be answered by Friday most likely. If they send him home Morey and crew are in it for the long haul. If they keep him around and keep playing the fine and suspend game I'd say chance are he'll be moved sooner IMO
I don't care what people think. People are stupid.

After last night, going by the historical record of Kings management, Barnes is now off any tables and Haliburton could be on them.

Obviously they will want to use Thompson and Bagley as the salary filler. So you have to find a third to take at least one of them.

At a certain point legacy needs to be discussed with him. Being a career 16, 8, and 8 (or better) with a championship or two under your belt is HOF worthy. So if he has any intentions on making it to that level, he needs to cooperate.

All Simmons cares about is money. That much should be clear by now.

ESPN Sources: All-Star Ben Simmons arrived and departed the 76ers practice facility today without taking part in a scheduled individual workout. His status for Friday night's game vs. Brooklyn (ESPN, 7:30 PM) is unclear. As a team, the Sixers had no practice today.

Simmons has yet to fully engage in a team practice, so it remains unlikely that he would make his season-debut vs. the Nets on Friday.

To me its obvious Ben doesn't get 2 fuks about Philly, even if we get robbed in a deal to rid ourselves from that bastard.

I would rather let his ass sit out the year than get robbed with some BS deal.

Hell I really don't care if he sits for 4 years.....at this point, he doesn't give a damn about us so we shouldn't give a damn how long he has to sit there. I'm willing to allow this team to play ball pissed off at the situation....like they did last night.

Philly's Best wrote:10 Million Dollar Question... What happens next? Do they send him home? This isn't 2k so human emotions are involved. As much as I'd love to punish this spoiled baby at this point its probably best they send him away until they find a trade. Kind of a sunk cost at this point.

If he keeps not doing what the team tells him to do, and he doesn't get traded, I assume at some point the league will step in and suspend him. Sixers don't have to pay luxury tax on that money if that happens. I assume that is where this is heading, and is why the Sixers don't just send him home. Silver's office is almost certainly very involved with this, they may even have someone at the practice facility.

Note all the reports recently. Doc throws him out of practice for not doing a drill. Now he misses a session. It's not like they're suspending him for generally being disruptive or not engaged. This is all bright line stuff. They are building a case against him.

Now I'd prefer they just pay him and send him home because it's cleaner but I don't sign the checks.

I mean what was the point of coming, does he not realize he's going to keep getting suspended? So he's not making any money either yet still going in half assed.
