Nevertheless, you're correct that Maxey isn't a floor general or playmaker - yet, at only 20 years of age as a starting point guard. But he does other things that Ben doesn't. Ben is a playmaker, Maxey is a shot-maker.
For those of us who follow the team daily, we know that as a rookie Maxey was extremely reliant on his floater to begin the season last year. Halfway through, Doc asked him to do more. So Maxey started utilizing other aspects of his game on offense. I think his shot is much more improved this year as only a second year player.
At the trade deadline Sixers will grab a steady point guard, I'm sure. The team knows its needs.
