That was a fun game even with a rough loss. Guys looked like it was the first game all night. Rotations need to be fixed a bit but the team showed it will battle.

Jackson and Morris hit some big shots but they left George and Bledsoe to do all the heavy lifting.

Mann’s next step is to be consistent.

Bet Boston and Scrubb would have done more in 15 minutes than what Coffey did.

That two man action was so strange since you know as soon as he gives the ball up they will double. How was Morris and Jackson on the other side of the floor ?

I also need Kennard to get way more shots up. Good effort tonight but George even asked him to give him more. You can’t have 7 points this year

True but still he's got to say screw it and take it to the rack and at least draw a foul. PG was double teamed and nobody else made an effort to get open. We gave him a pass in the playoff game against the Mavs and now with a new season he's gotta Mann up and take those shots if the number one and two guys are double teamed and locked down.

STAT OF THE NIGHT: Only 7 turnovers!!! GSW = 21

Rotations were kamikaze. Ty did good, trying EVERYTHING. The plus/minuses are completely bizarre for a 2-point loss because you can't tell who played with whom, because Ty scrambled the eggs so much.

Kennard 24min/+19/7 pts
Coffey 15min/+16/5 pts
Mann 39 min/+6/11 pts

PG 37min/+3/29pts/11reb/6ast

the rest finished in the minus, but after falling behind by 19 at 59-40 halfway through the 2nd quarter
we beat them the rest of the way

Bingo this. He didn't do jackspit else but JJ Redick averaged 14.8 as a Clipper. Get your ass in gear, Luke. We got the rest covered.

But FTR Kennard was a team-high plus+19 and Coffey was +14 in only 15 minutes. Plus/minus is not the be-all-and-end-all but you can't say they hurt us while they were out there. They were the least of our problems.

Steph put up 45. Even at minus-13 guarding him, Bled put up 22 himself. In his first game back as a Clipper.

And we had FOUR new starters from opening night last year!!

    K. Leonard
    P. George
    S. Ibaka
    N. Batum
    P. Beverley

And at some point, 3 of those will be back... :onfire:

Bledsoe might become a fan favorite this season. Clear upgrade over Bev in every area except 3P shooting. We really needed someone like him to take the pressure off PG & Reggie.

Still want more from Mann. Great energy/hustle, just too passive sometimes.

If Luke puts up at least 10 shots per game, I can live with the results. Some nice glimpses of playmaking.

I hope some of those Coffey minutes start going towards our prospects. Wouldn't mind seeing Hartenstein out there as well.

Morris' knee worries me just as much as Serge's back. The attitude is there, but the body doesn't always listen.

Winslow is a tough sell for me, but as long as Ty keeps his minutes in check, whatever.

Would love to see us at full strength (except Kawhi) for at least a couple of games. If we can consistently produce this kind of effort, we'll be just fine.

Man, while losing does suck the guys showed the same resiliency as last season. And to do it with Batum also out?

This squad is to going to be real fun to watch.

Right on, bro. Only 7 turnovers!? These kids were cool as cucumbers in front of a delirious GSW home opener crowd. After falling behind by 19. With Steph shooting the lights out. With cooler-than-cool vets Batum and Ibaka sidelined.

I had fun.

Mann had a great game defending Curry and later in the game Curry was doing everything he could to get Mann off of him. But once Curry got switched onto Kennard, we were cooked. PG played well but had quite a few bone-headed plays, as per usual; same with Reggie Jackson. We also can't have Jackson waving everyone off for a clear-out (iso for himself) when he's shooting 3 for 15 at the time. That's just embarrassing, especially when he misses the shot.

While the game was close and I did have fun, the team, in all too familiar fashion, came out flat and fell behind, THEN woke up and gave em what for. While it's exciting, is it ok?

Tough loss but love seeing that never give up attitude carry over from the post-season. Sucks Batum couldn't play though, they are going to really need him every game this season.

Say what you will about Redick, but one thing he always did was hustle for shot opportunities when he was on the floor. He knew what he had to do to justify being on the floor. It's great to be able to move the ball, be a team player, etc. but you got to balance that with that this team is actually paying you to do.

Well, we ran into a well-oiled buzz saw. They already had a game under their belt and then Steph hit his first 10 shots.
