Wish I would have collected all the instances of people saying "I get the feeling this will be over in a couple weeks."

IF he needs mental health assistance, why would he come to practice start participating in drills and the all the sudden refuse to do a drill?

Bogut:

“Unfortunately, he has form doing these kinds of things; we experienced it with the national team,” Bogut said.

“There’s not going to be too much sympathy for him, but hopefully they can sort it out and both parties can have something positive to come out of it.”

Tobias is the most chill dude ever. If we kept Jimmy Butler and Tobi they could be nicknamed 'Fire and Nice'.

Morey's interview with Missanelli last night obviously had the desired effect.

So I guess we're back to Morey is crazy like a fox.

If Ben had led with this... he would've taken no flack. Even if he still ended up requesting a trade.

I am pretty sure I said this on here a couple-a-few weeks ago, that he would pull a Mental Health Injury Card type of deal. Someone or another said it wasn't going to happen and tried to say I had no right bringing up Mental Health.

So, he's done it, and now he gets paid. The CBA allows him to collect his salary if his failure to render services are related to a mental health injury. The BS back injury didn't work because the team doctors 'cleared him', so now he pulls this.

Hilarious, sad, ridiculous, and I told ya'll so.

Why do I have a feeling that the moment he gets traded his mental health will greatly improve.

This is bogus...it's all about getting his money.

You're 101% right. I would not be the least bit surprised - in fact I would bet a couple-a-few dollars on this - that his genius Agent realized he was in trouble, and paid a lawyer or three to analyze the CBA/Contract/League By-Laws etc. - "Listen, I'm giving you $1,000/HR, FIND US A LOOPHOLE" and it really is an elegant loophole from their perspective - how can you prove he's not "faking" it? Even with back injuries, which I respect fully, as I have an artificial disc and went through a brutal Total Disc Replacement surgery - there are back injuries that really do hurt the person, but can't be pinpointed- but there are also expert Doctors who can do tests and stuff and say something doesn't make sense, etc. You can't complain that you BROKE YOUR BACK, YOUR BACK IS BROKEN, SPINAL!!! and the Docs say , "Uhh, yeah, X-Rays, MRIs, Ultrasounds, all negative, and you don't show any symptoms on physical exam..."

But Mental Health... "Sorry Coach... that last play, I hurt my Psyche... I think a nice cup of herbal tea will help, but no telling how long I'll be out..." and now he gets paid.

And the 76ers, with our Woke World, won't fight back. They don't want to get picked on on Twitter for being insensitive to mental health.

Do you guys think Morey or anyone else in your front office has discussed going after Zion Williamson?

Simmons played at LSU and their fans were chanting for him the other night. He'd also be a really good fit for their roster with Zion no longer there.

And let's face it Zion needs a wake up call before his career goes off the rails. He isn't going to get that in New Orleans. Embiid though could do for Zion what Moses Malone did for Barkley.

Zion loses 40 pounds and he along with Embiid crush the league for years to come.

So how long is he going to milk this. Mental health issues can last years.

I don't believe they were chanting because they wanted him on the Pelicans(the Pelicans were beating the Sixers are the time of one of the clips I saw)... but rather it was more of a taunt to the Sixers like "hahaha, put Simmons out there!"

I don't think Simmons has any kind of 'draw' from the New Orleans fanbase just because he played one year at LSU which quite frankly he wasn't regarded that highly and thought of as 'underperforming' if I recall the general reaction at the time. Considering how hyped he was at a top prospect, the fanbase wanted a Carmelo Anthony like Freshman year.

Someone's head not being in the right space isn't the same as saying they are suffering from a mental illness. Is it related to mental health? Sure, anything involving the wellness of your mind or body involves the health of one or both of those. I haven't read anything yet to indicate that he is suffering from a diagnosed mental health condition, not that a diagnosis suddenly changes everything. It sounds more like he is trying to wrap his head around what he was sure was going to happen, him getting traded, and what needs to be done to return, get his mind and body straight, try to mend some of those bridges he burnt or at least scorched and accept that this is the reality he is dealing with, not the fantasy he has been living in for the past few months.

Mental health issues don't 'last years', the things one has to deal with to maintain good mental health last a lifetime as do mental health conditions and illnesses, they are still there even when they are under control and well treated. At this point I am taking this more as him having to wrap his head around what he needs to do, which is as much about taking care of his state of mental health as it would be if he said he wasn't physically ready to play. That would not necessarily mean he was physically injured, but not in the physical condition yet to play at a high, professional level.

If you take a statement about mental health, change the word 'mental' to the word 'physical', and it sounds like something you are saying is wrong or goofy or not applicable, then it likely means you are falling into the trap that even discussing mental health unfortunately carries the same (and oft unintended) stigma as discussing mental illness carries with it.

With the way events have unfolded and how much money is at stake here, he probably wouldn't get away with just saying he has a mental disability. They already said he's going to be evaluated by medical professionals, I would have to imagine the Sixers would make sure those people are independent and give an honest assessment.

Just another tactic to get paid. I'll never be convinced otherwise. Shameful by Simmons.
