Switch may work eventually, I'm not giving up yet. I think it's tough in today's nba, especially if everyone isn't on a string. I also worry that if we don't get it down early enough it could hurt us in the standings. 1 month is all I can hang on because we have the personnel to do it but it's about chemistry and understanding.

Ime said the problem wasn't that they weren't switching correctly, he said they were switching when he told them not to, wanted Rob to stay with Randle. Said the problem was a lack of communication. Basically said everyone was at fault except Rob, because 4 people made the mistake (JB, Tat, Smart, and Schrö). Most of them yelled at Rob but he was right and they weren't. That's just something time and good chemistry will help.

losing this game is not an option, especially on our home floor.

Get out to an early lead and don't let off the gas pedal!

must win. if we lose, I propose the whole board takes a calendar year off to take up some calm hobby that's good for the blood pressure, like knitting, or cocaine.

Yup. First game of the season. New coach, new system.

The knicks crowd was going nuts the whole time, too - especially in the overtime periods which makes it tougher for communication out there on D, tougher for guys to hear each other.

We'll get it figured out.

Good news is, 1 game into the season Rob is a contender for DPOY :)
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Celtics should be milking corner threes until their arms fall off tonight gonna be tons of opportunities.

I wanna see Tatum make a concerted effort to take it to the basket.

I don’t wanna see a giant drop off in shot making we started the game shooting like 60% the first 16 or so mins then finished somehow shooting 40% which is a joke.

Such a shame the NBA didn't count blocks and steals until 1973.
I would bet Bill Russell did this in the first quarter many times.

KG did it in a playoff game against ATL in 2012, per nba.com.

I don’t love the switching - I think they’ve proven over the last few years they can handle a more complex set of coverages and they have guys who get over screens - but I like that Ime is candid about who was on the right page and who wasn’t. They’ve needed that kind of candor in recent seasons and Brad either didn’t want to or couldn’t supply it.
