Re: PG: Scottie overwhelms Celtics
The thing I love most about Scottie is you know that he will have a huge impact on the game whether he is scoring or not.
His shot may not always be falling, but he will contribute no matter what.

He’s going to be the teams starting SG when Siakam comes back anyways.
Nurse is gonna overcomplicate it guaranteed. That would be best scenario but it took him 6 Gamez to finally bench dragic
*1 regular season game. Lol

He started him most of preseason ezcwpt the games he had fvvwere resting. His plan from the jump was to have dragic as a starter.. .

Obviously there's no guarantees as to what it'll mean but it sure is nice to know that when Scottie is a FA and looks back he's going to remember everyone in the world saying we should draft Suggs and the Raptors saying WE THINK SCOTTIE IS BETTER.

Og is best when he keeps things simple... cut and dunk. Catch and shoot. Post up and dunk... hes not a creator or a guy you cn give the ball to and let him go to work. He doesn't have the skillset for it... therefore he's a 3 ND d guy... again that's fine... everyone gets angry because their favorite players have limitations. And can't accept that not everyone is gonna develop into a star...
Scottie barneacalready looks more fluid than og as a rookie... that's just natural skills that have been developed and harnessed from a young age... og doesn't have that coordination. If is what it is

Re: PG: Scottie overwhelms Celtics
Horford and Williams were demolishing us halfway through the first quarter and Precious was invisible. But then somehow things turned around and we just started killing them on the offensive glass. So refreshing to see, we were abysmal on the boards last season.

No one is seriously calling him the next Kawhi, but he's going to be more than a 3+D player. He already WAS more than a 3+D player last season when he scored 16 PPG on 60 TS% while being a top 5 wing defender in the league.

From the sample we've seen I'm comfortable with OG operating from the middle baseline post area and off the catch attacking closeouts. His initiation though, that might need to be limited

Suggs
Game 1: 3-14
Game 2: 4-17
That's rough, although he did also have 8 asts/7 rebs tonight.

It's embarrassing watching him trip over himself when trying to dribble, telegraphed shots getting blocked whether at the rim or at the perimeter
OG is a slow starter. He's probably their best shooter. They'll eventually start going in.
OG always shot as a catch & shoot player, now he's trying to create off the dribble and it's been an ugly disaster
The team as a whole is playing like a mess on offense. They'll settle in and OG will take more shots in rhythm.

Or trying to get his reps In with the starters? he’s going to be the 6th man which means playing with some sort of combination of starters. I don’t see a problem with with Nurse has done in preseason. Nurse likes to mix things up. If he was really going to ride and die with Dragic he would have kept him starting, not after 1 regular season game.
raf1995 wrote:I just don’t think he has that kind of potential. I think we will regret not trading him for a haul in a few years when he’s a mid-tier starter with nice playmaking and defense and a shaky jumper.
