It’s possible they have Embiid talk to the fans tonight before the game starts asking them to be respectful and give Simmons his space, no? Gotta think they’ve at least batted that idea around.
Embiid isn't bothering with that stuff, guy has a game to win.

Utterly humiliating. Feel so bad for Joel.

In fact, I bet he and Rich Paul thought none of this (having to talk with Sixers teammates) would need to happen again, which is why this looks so awkward right now, he really thought he would get traded quickly before training camp so none of this would happen. Too bad for him it's not only in his hands, the team can do whatever they want with him, he is still a Sixer for 4 years until team says otherwise.
You are spot on. The fact that he gives a completely disingenuous canned answer to a question asking why his excuse doesn’t fit his narrative is proof that this is a complete contrivance. Shameful.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 6
After watching this team for 2 *whole* games, I think Fox is the best "realistic" trade target for Ben. I'm still not crazy about starting a midget backcourt and would start Korkmaz instead of Curry. Simmons/Shake for Fox/Harkless.
Fox(32)/Maxey(16)
Korkmaz(24)/Curry(24)
Green(24)/Thybulle(24)
Harris(34)/Niang(14)
Embiid(32)/Drummond(16)
Fox/Maxey/Springer
Korkmaz/Curry/Joe
Green/Thybulle/Harkless
Harris/Niang/Reed
Embiid/Drummond/Bassey
Fox(32)/Maxey(16)
Korkmaz(24)/Curry(24)
Green(24)/Thybulle(24)
Harris(34)/Niang(14)
Embiid(32)/Drummond(16)
Fox/Maxey/Springer
Korkmaz/Curry/Joe
Green/Thybulle/Harkless
Harris/Niang/Reed
Embiid/Drummond/Bassey
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:
Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Edgecombe/Grimes/Gordon
George/Oubre/Edwards
Watford/Barlow/Walker
Embiid/Drummond/Bona/Broome

Thankfully Embiid and Morey seem to be 100% on the same page regarding this whole situation.

If Ben tries to make it a big thing they will make him jump through some hoops though I assume. Like I said he'll have to be assessed by independent doctors.
In Georgia you cannot fire a state employee if they need to go rehab.

Honestly it’s not hard to see a situation where he could be mentally struggling. All the family stuff, his performance consistently dropping in the playoffs, the backlash about his development, and all this being played out in public. You would have to be pretty closed minded to think he has not been effected by it all. Not dismissing his behaviour but I think you could find a lot of docs that would give him a case of depression.

Someone needs to sit them both down and sort it out
Can you imagine Barassi allowing it to get this far?
This is a monumental failure of management

Embiid is repeating what Morey told him.
If you don't want to use the picks fine, find a third team who will give up their "difference maker" for the picks. Because Ben will not be the centerpiece in a star trade anymore.

Kyrie is literally the only all-time closer on the table, but he also happens to be an all-time headcase too.

Re: Ben Simmons Trade Thread Part 6
Why is that without our “one of the leaders with assists on 3 pointers” we still attempt 30 3s per game and even shot better?
Do you guys see us having difficulty in generating looks on 3s without Ben than with Ben?
I dont.
Is Ben’s “3pt creation” real? If it’s real, is it that good? If it’s THAT good then why are we not struggling creating 3s without him.

If Ben was playing, Danny wouldn't have airballed those threes

For me, Ben’s 3pt creation is REAL. But its waaaaay overblown.
Where I think we missed Ben is on size on defense and rebounding.

No lie I think Kyrie would be perfect here for some reason.
We do need the king of the dysfunctionals. It’s like cool we just got the maddest hatter in the mad house this is how you do it Ben.
Ben comes back and starts popping 3’s on low 30% like nothing ever happened.
Sounds crazy
Harris is too rational he must go lol.
Li WenWen is the GOAT
