I love how the Buck fans dismiss our injuries last year but then after Heat ripped their head off last night it was "we are half injured". Heat is going to dispose of the Bucks. We need to get on track cause they are the real team to beat.

Dwight is a moron but his accolades are above reproach.

I think having a talent like Howard would have made a massive difference at that time. But who knows. We were doomed.

Ah, but let's not forget, also an 18-year-running team cancer and all-around locker-room chemistry-killer. Or something in that neighborhood. But yeah, you're right.

That said, LeBron is a special player and special leader of men, and I love the way Dwight was brought on board the first time. (remember that, lol?)

I'm just looking at the on court stuff honestly.

Like, I think Jason Kidd is a disgusting human being, but he absolutely is one of the league's 75 greatest players of all time.

Dwight belongs on the team. So does Kyrie.

Westbrook has no business being on the list. Dwight should be in over Lillard, Westbrook, Greer and probably a few others.

I put Kyrie, Westbrook and Dame on the same level. Great all time players, but they probably should wait their turn.

Dwight and Vince Carter should have made it. You can make a case that Tracy McGrady and Klay Thompson were also snubbed.

I also think AD should have been made to wait his turn.

That's some good sh-t, and thank you TNF for bringing it!

That said, I can't help but cringe-laugh at the hapless body of Nets fans, still thinking that this whole business was just 'Billy King going off the rails.'

Because there could not be a more foolish, less-engaged, less-informed take than 'it was all just Billy King going nuts, dude.'

Anyway...

The problem with Billy was he could not negotiate. There was a deep dive on the KG+PP trade years ago. I believe it was the Ringer. Basically the Celtics owner kept telling Ainge to ask for more, because they knew once Billy had his mind set on something he never said no.

Dinwiddie had himself a night. Sucks to talk about him in the Around The NBA thread.

Yes, it was awesome and a bit bittersweet to see him ball out on his new team. I'll still root for him.

Definitely could've used him. Its the impact that he provides is what I'm so pissed about. I thought Patty could cover, not the case in this far.

Is love to have both Patty and Spencer, but accounting for contracts and luxury tax implications, Mills was the smarter choice. Dinwiddie is younger and the more talented PG, but I always wondered about the fit of him next to Harden. With Patty, no such concern, he can play next to anyone on our roster and shine.

And he's a perfect 10/10 from 3 so far this season, with great decision making and leadership. What more do you want from Bala?

There is a reason why Din is 20m guy and Mills never was/is.

Dinwiddie is a proper point guard, underrated imo. Mills is a 6ft shooting guard, good sixth man.

I also think AD should have been made to wait his turn.

I mean, Dame to me carries his teams with a total effort & efficiency package that edges out Kyrie & WB.

Like... Kyrie is a deadly-efficient scorer and Russ is an incredible numbers machine, but both have some pretty big flaws here and there. Meanwhile, Lillard produces more win-shares AFAIK, and with consistently lesser teammates than the other two. That ain't nothing.

Anyway, yeah-- the cousins Vince and TMac being omitted also bothers me.

Prime TMac in particular was an absolute beast that the opponent would have to meticulously plan against. Vince (love you, Vince) wasn't quite on that level, and Klay had the benefit of arguably the most-elite passing teams in NBA history, not to mention the other team having to gameplan Curry (good luck with that) and worry about prime Draymond as well. And then... f-cking good luck dealing with the three Slim Reaper years.

So Klay's a great player to me, but also a huge beneficiary of the system, fit, and legendary teammates. Just not on TMac's (and Dwight's) level IMO.

And that's exactly right from everything I've read and heard.

My point here is that Prokhy (not "Proky," hah) explicitly directed King to 'go and out and get some superstars... f-cking NOW!'

So I agree that King chronically overpursued, and could be nakedly manipulated once he got piqued, but the whole thing was a pretty terrible, impatient idea from day one, and that's on Mikael Prokhorov far more than his minions, Razumov and King.

Point is this-- there's a reason you don't see even terrible GM's in sports completely mortgaging the future the way King did in the mere space of two years or whatever it was. Because that only happens under direct owner imperative, and that's in fact what happened under Prokhy from everything I've read.

* Other than the Eric Dickerson & Herschel Walker trades, which... probably not many people here remember.

His own son hates him too. Kidd was a great player, no doubt about it and I loved watching him play when he was here but he is not a good person.
